Wondering if I can use the same wiring/tubing from the factory gauge to wire up a mechanical Omori boost gauge. Anybody do this?

I used the stock vacuum hose, for mine the stock hose has the correct restrictor attached. For the wiring, I stripped the Omori side with about 1/4" of wire showing. I plugged them right into the stock plug and secured with electrical tape. No splicing required. Oh, you are comparing the accuracy of your mechanical boost gauge versus your electrical blitz dtt gauge. Well you dtt gauge could be wrong also. Anthony the blitz is in fact correct. with the stock boost controller in, the OE boost gauge tells me i am running about 11 psi while the blitz is spot on at 13.6. niceguybille 10-17-2002, 07:51 AM anyone know how to get the factory boost gauge out of the rubber pocket w/o tearing it up? If you just lift the lip of the pod around the edges, you can get a finger in and slowly pull it out. Not exactly sure what you mean - if you mean the 3/16"s mod, then I would say you might be confused. It was my understanding that the 3/16th mod comes into play here: http://www.boostmonkey.com/stockrestrictor.jpg I'm also pretty sure there is no reason to tap off of this thing for a boost gauge, but I could certainly be mistaken. Also, WebKris (on the forums) had tried all sorts of different configurations for the 3/16ths mod, so it IS possible he tried what you may be suggesting and came up with no benefit. (If THAT's what you are saying.) |
