i am looking for the ones that have installed the optional wire harness with the blitz sbc-id. i have a few questions.

1. what exactly does the optional harness do?

2. does the optional harness improve the auto settings at all?

3. how difficult is the harness to install?

4. have you noticed any performance gains or problems since installation?

what harness are you talking about?

the only wiring needed is power and ground.
a harness for anything will not improve performance...

All the SBC optional harness allows you to do is monitor linear voltage sensors of the car...

I have tapped into TPS, MAF and IAT... all I can do is view the value the ECU is reading.

You can also hook up your own sensors... ie- 3 temp probes monitoring air intake temps before turbo, after turbo and after IC.. that would be neat to monitor...

Or you could attempt to hook up an 02 sensor to the SBC id, although the voltage output is not completely linear... not at all really... but you could get an idea.

You could monitor whether or not the ECU is opening or closing the tumble generator valves... or actually read the MAP value off the MAP sensor...

Theres a bunch of stuff you could monitor... just be creative..

But remember thats all it will do is monitor. Its just plugs right in.... find a ground and then connect the other 3 wires to the sensors you wish to monitor and your done.

Then you gotta set up the scale and values of the sensor so the SBC knows what voltage means what value. Remember temp probes voltage reading is inverse to the actual temp reading, meaning as the voltage increase, the temp decreases...

Get a copy of the ECU pinout diagram and look for items that have a definite voltage range and nothing thats waveform....

the only thing this would monitor is voltage not actual temperature. correct? is there any way that you could convert the signal to display a temperature?

ps yes that would be way cool to monitor

thats what the sbc id allows you to do...

for example it will ask you to input low voltage and a fit value.

for example... the TPS's range is either 1 volt or 5 volts... I cant remember, well say 1 volt

0 volt = 0% throttle
1 volt = 100% throttle

so you input low voltage as 0 and the fit as 0
input high voltage as 1 and fit as a 100... then label the display.

Now the sbc id knows what the value is anywhere from 0 volts to 1 volt...

the only thing is that with temp... its inverse... 0 would be hot and 1 would be cold... this kinda messes up the peak value... but you cant have everything..

Here is some info I hope someone else may find helpful down the road:
For use of the SBC-id optional harness the wires coming out of the SBC-id are as follows:

BLACK wire = ground
BROWN wire = Data 1 (A/F, TPS, MAP etc.)
YELLOW wire = Data 2 (set up for degrees C)
GRAY wire = Data 3 (set up for volts)

All fields can be adjusted to monitor whatever sensor you want. You need to find the proper frequency to tune the controller to though to read correctly. I am working on that one for the KNOCK sensor...time will tell.

Oh use the rear O2 sensor for the A/F sensor which is located at location B17 on the ECU and is a whitewire

Engine coolant is located at B18 and is a blackand yellow wire

I use an ignition on 12V wire located at my Day Time Running Lights relay for VOLTS.
