Okay...there isn't much on the the automatics...
I just need to know what to use on the following, I want to use Redline:
1. Front diff
2. Trans
3. Center dist
4. Rear diff
For the diffs, do I need to use 75w90NS or 75w90 (additive or not). In regards to the tranny, I know I should use their SYN ATF.
I just need some input...I am not too familiar with my wifes GT Wagon. I never touch the thing, I normally have the Subaru specialty shop do it....but, I got screw the last time I took it in. I am a rotary guy........but, would like to know more about the boxers. :D
Thanks!

Front and rear diff use regular 75W90... 75W90NS is only used in manual transmission application which require a GL5 rating but does not need the friction modifiers. Talking to Dave at Redline, he told me to use 75W90 in any hypoid gearset, regardless of wheter it had a LSD or not.
Auto trans use whatever synth ATF fits the bill.

Okay..
For the front and rear diffs I will use 75w90NS.
For the AT, I will use the SYN ATF
Does anyone know if I can drain the ATF and the filter w/o having it brought to a TRANNY shop? I read that the tranny fluid needs to be pumped out and in???
Does anyone have a OEM shop manual that can be scanned or online?
Thanks.

You have it backwards:
For the diffs, regular 75W90, not the 75W90NS.
I've also heard that AMSOIL Series 2000 75W90 is good stuff...

Now I am confused....
let me clarify one thing. Do I need the diff additives? If I do, I will run the 75w90. If I do NOT need it I will run the 75w90NS.
I will NOT run AMS(SPOIL)OIL. Some of the rotary guys used it with bad results during from excessive driveline shock....not going there.

It looks like either 75W90 or 75W90NS will be fine for the diffs, but RedLine and Cobb Tuning suggest that the regular 75W90 is better for the diffs.

For the diffs (front & rear. center is sealed), check the owner's manual or scoobymods.com for pics. It's very straight-forward in the manual. I was able to do mine and the only DIY thing I ever did before that was change the oil.
Regarding the transmission. Most dealers in my area do not even do a flush. They just do a simple drain and replace.
To get 100% of the ATF out, the shop would need to use a transmission fluid exchange machine.
A guy on another board was told by his dealer that it isn't necessary to do a flush because you just need to replace the additives that have depleted.
I used Amsoil for ~45,000 miles in my manual OBS and never had ANY problems. ;)

Thanks Dennis.
Yeah, I REALLY would like to drain ALL the fluids and start fresh. Well, after I change the diffs...off to the shop.
