I got tired of it so I finally said the hell with it and grabbed some tools. For you that have or don't have this rattle it comes from the dome light and is pretty constant when the car is moving. Bass makes it worse. Service advisors that I have talked to in the past called it the "Impreza rattle" because evidently this is a common problem. I didn't complain about it to the dealer anymore, because the first two wouldn't do crap about it and I don't wanna send my current guy after a stupid rattle. Here is how I fixed it:

1) Pop the lens off of dome-light. (DUH!)

2) Notice the two screws holding it to the headliner. Take screws out.

3) I found the culprit to be the connector for the ground wire on the one screw. When there is vibration, the metal hits the plastic and rattles.

4) Put some electrical tape around the non-srew contact portions of the connector and on the platic itself. Cover the screw hole with e-tape.

5) Push screw with connector through e-tape and screw back into place.

6) Repeat for second screw and replace lens.

I'm going to try that in my preza. I think if I kill this rattle
the interior will be drum-tight again... for a while anyway. haha.

Hmm, no dome light rattle for me. :) But I do have sunroof tapping (Yes, tapping! Very creepy!), driver door rattle and some kind of sqeaking from the rear left when I go over bumps. :( Hope someone's got fixes for those. I'm going to take my driver door apart sometime in the winter and try to fix it, but I can't find the location for the squeaking in the rear.

I have yet to experience the dome light rattle.. but I do that the rattle beind the steering wheel.. For the longest time I those it was inside the dash, under the speedo.. But it turned out to be the plastice covering the ignition, after the steering wheel, and before the dash. I have yet to fix that thing!!

A fix for the sunroof creaking.

man i'm all for subaru... but this is pretty unrefined.... though i'm not complaining where they put thier efforts in... i have sun roof headliner rattle... i think i have the dome light rattle and i have a driver door window roller rattle and now my stupid dash to the windshield is creaking.... I live in -20 weather... i can hear cracking when i go over speed bumps... if i decided to fix rattles i would have lost a week of my life....

I have a rattle the seems to becoming from the driver's side B pillar. It's annoying as hell, but thank god it doesn't rattle constantly. Oh and the rear view mirror vibrates too much w/ my stromung exhuast. I'd be really appreciative if someone could help me with those.

Oh well, like I said to my brother (for saying the car has a cheap interior) I got this car for it's performance and not for it's creature comforts.
