Is the shipping through UPS again, I saw a lot of broken lights in the other group buy?

We will start shipping the next group buy using FedEx as they seem to be more careful.

I think I'd be interested, does anyone know how much the PNP harness is, OR how hard are they to install without the plung and play harness?

are the plug n play harnesses ready to use? Are there any more modifications that have to be made to them?

Wiring diagram is available there too. Doesn't look too difficult to build (not sure how tough it will be to locate proper connectors).

BTW: You know you want these headlights! Now off to find 14 to 19 more friends who must have them too :D

I thought I read somewhere that those harnesses need some splicing... this true or are they all ready?

They need to be spliced into the wiring on the lights...I dont think there is any "true" plug and play, and this is as close as it gets...

HID's are possible...
There was a post on here at some point about the STi lights having an extra connector (4 connectors/plugs), whereas the USDM has only 3...So the STi has to have two of the beams spliced into one...In short the lights have connectors, but to fit USDM the hafta be spliced... :)

I want these lights and no others. I am also not thrilled by the no refund policy. I don't want to step on the toes of WRXmotorworks. I know how difficult and frustrating import/export can be.

So, to get things moving I am proposing my services as an escrow agent. It would work something like this. Money Orders or certifed checks, payable to WRX Motorworks or their designee, are deposted in an escrow account under WRXmotorworks' tax ID #. I have an escrow account 'cuz I am a lawyer. The escrow agent will not release the money untill the escrow agreement terms are met. In this case enough people to satisfy the group buy. We could close the window on this by say the end of January 2003. This would be the only way to get your money back.

Or WRXMotorworks could change its refund policy

This is only a suggestion that I have made to do something other than plead with the rest of the people who have looked but not sent in their money. Please don't flame me too much.

Does anyone where I can find a diagram that shows the splicing required to get the headlights to work with the "Plug n Play" harnesses?

My concern is that if the GB does not get enough people, the money would still be non refundable. If that is not so, if I can get a refund if the GB does not come to fruitition, I will be calmed and will send my $. Did I misunderstand?

If you commit and the GB flops because of lack of people, Gary will either try and get a number of lights for the commited buyers or he will refund. What Gary means is once 25 have commited you can't back out or say you don't want them anymore, you've already paid and you will recieve lights, if you don't want them anymore then sell them on privatly.

Could I upgrade to a HID setup later with these? Or is the housing set for halogen bulbs only?

Stated another way, are these the same lights as the LHD STi HIDs just without the HID?

I would like to get something that I can upgrate to HID later and not blind people because I am using the wrong reflection housing.

If this future upgrade path is possible, I will sign up.

I'm pretty sure there is no LHD factory HID unit so I don't know how the pattern would change, but str8out from the tri-state has a set of HID's on his LHD lights...Maybe try searching his post or PM'ing him...

They are not available in HID's per Subaru.

no disrespect intended. i'm not trying to hijack your gb as that wouldn't be fair to the 10 guys already waiting patiently. i avoided mentioning any identifying remarks about the other gb other than price (which is in line with some of the other posts). besides, both prices are comparable. it's a question of how quickly i can get the lights. regardless, i think you're providing the group with a really great deal on a hard to find piece (which i had all intentions of joining) and am planning to buy from you in the future.

as for the risk of dealing with the other guy (a nasioc vendor), it's all cc (using my Internet-only dedicated cc). :)

I don't know about anyone else, but this is a really bad time for this current GB. I can see the Christmas gift angle, but I think it's the opposite. Most people here are too busy buying gifts for other people and don't have money right now for these. (ie ME :) ) If this GB does end on Dec 31st, wlil there be another in a month or so? I'd love to jump in on this, but the timing is sooo bad for me.

low=h1
blinker=same as stock


The headlights should come with all of the necessary bulbs. You will plug the stock turn signal plug into the new light and that will take care of the turn signal and city light.

What is that? Do we all need one for these lights?

It's something that Gary is trying to put together...It is not needed, but our lights have motors on the back of them. These are "neat" lil' things that allow one to adjust the beam pattern from inside the car to one of four different levels...

how long did it take for you to get the lights in?

It was a real simple process...Only took my dad and I about 40 min. and the light beams didn't need adjusted

do you notice a big difference at night driving with them?

everytime I try to order something from some vendor on this board, something happens, "the part will be coming in on the next shipment from japan...in two months", "we have Utec's" and you buy it and a month later they say its "on back order" than it take another month to get a refund thru paypal(not gary for the record). Personally, I am getting tired. I pay in a timely manner, I dont think it is too terrible to expect to receive my products in the same way. Gary, I am not flaming you or trying to give you a hard time, but I really did expect for this to take this long. It was an impulse purchase and gosh darn it....this is killing the fun of it :)

I would hope that you are not selling them from out from under us because you can get more money. I would like the harness and leveler switch but I am very leary giving you any more of my money until you deliver what we paid for.

Some good news.

Spoke to US Customs today and they stated they have located 4 sets of lights that they have been holding mixed up in another shipment.

They said i should have them by weeks end.

They are tracking the others down as we speak.
