hey guys, Today when I took my car in for a check up, I kinda told them about the culb, they told me they were planning to form a RS club. They didnt know that we existed already. Anyhow they told me they were plannin' a racing event around June/June for the RS owners. I told them about the site, so they will post message to keep us informed.. they show a lot of interest in the club...what do u think guys?

From my own bad experience, Richmond Subaru got those kind of RICEboy type people. I do think Specialty Subaru can give us more support and information than Richmond Subaru. Since Specialty already into the rally but Richmond Subaru don't even have a clue what autox is.
Orbiter, try to make Specialty our "OFFICICAL" sponsor.

I didnt even know we have a sponsor, besides isnt it better to have more than one sponsor?
GS116: What is riceboy type people?, I thought this is a club where all Impreza drivers are welcome. I just think we are more of a car club than a race club.
P.S. I think most of the ppl dont care who our sponsor is.

I don't think it would work with more than one dealer as our sponser, even though the more the better.

even though some people probably won't agree with me saying this, I really don't think we should have business tied up with the club.

Two dealers as sponsers would be great.

what's wrong with riceboy people? I don't see anything wrong with them, I also don't agree with what they do, performance will always come before looks for me. but many people in this club have high wings, are they riceboys and if so, are they not welcome?

Tell them (Richmond) that talk is cheap. Then we'll see who does what for whom. Ask them for the date ! I've tried to get stuff from them before and it's been pure hell, especially if your car has any mods.

More sponsors is better, but trying to pit 2 soob dealears head to head is a lame idea. We will lose them both.

P.S. Even tho I am a HO I went to Specialty out of choice. Don't forget that.

Riceboys are people who can't afford real performance mods. Like me. haha http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/biggrin.gif

Ok, I think there is a bit misunderstanding here. I only meant that Richmond seems like don't want any performance mod to our cars. From my point of view is they target on those RICH kids, and not those people want to add HP to the cars. I know few of their sales/service team guys. And before they bring in the US bumper, they sold the replica kits which brought in from Taiwan or HK. And they sure they can't come with the re-bar. They don't really care about the safety, they just want the look. That's why I said they are those "Riceboy type" people.
Also after I got my RS, I did talk them into forming a car club, with will involve in Autox and/or Rally. The very first thing I heard from them was "Sorry, it'll void all your warranty! Forget it!"
If this cause any trouble/ problem, very sorry about that!
By the way, willc is right, it's an owner club, not a race club. I also don't mind any kind of people joining the club.

Come on guys. Can't we all just get along? I must say I don't like the Richmond dealer but it's only because they messed up on my WRX bumper and the service manager(the owners wife) ain't all that friendly.(when I ask her to gimme some free touch up paint, but what r u gonna do?)

But I know the owner of the dealer and he's been racing all his life and he would be very interested about the club.

Let's just set up the next meeting and discuss the matter later and not point fingers at each others. Nobody is a richboy or raceguy here. We are all just Subaru lovers.
