View Full Version : Maybe I'll get flamed... a rant
jackwei 02-28-2000, 06:20 PM Recently, it seems to me many IMPORTANT choices have been made for the whole club (in Vancouver) by a few individuals.
About our recent aquisition of an "unofficial" sponser. How many of you guys knew about it before we got this unofficial sponser? and since this is OUR club, and not any individual's club. don't you think we as members should be able to choose (vote for maybe?) who we want our sponsers to be? instead of having a few people at the top making all the calls?
after all, who has heard of an unofficial prime minister or president?
let us club members make a choice, and whatever the majority chooses, is the BEST choice for us.
and for your information, I've been here for as long as anyone else from Vancouver, I was here before Alex got his tools stolen!!
eject me from I-Club Vancouver if you want, but I think I am not bashing and/or bad mouthing anyone here. I have a free will, and I think we should be able to voice our opinions, and make the right choice together.
jackwei 02-28-2000, 06:26 PM oh, and please note that I do not like any dealers over another right now, I don't like Richmond, Don Dock. or Speciality best out of all the dealers. in case you were thinking that I am biased towards one dealership over another.
jackwei 02-28-2000, 06:27 PM oh, and I don't see Robert or Imprezer picking up sponsers without the rest of the club knowing.
You're wrong here - nobody in the club has made any decisions about anything.
Specialty made an unofficial offer to issue us discount cards, that is it. As far as anything else goes, you are making it up in yoru own head or someone has been telling you stories.
Nothing else was 'decided' on behalf of anyone so I have no idea what you are talking about.
Also, it is up to individuals to ask other individuals to stop bad-mouthing people. I've known for a long time who has said what and I haven't asked anyone to shut up. And I'm the worst ho of all, so you are being presumptuous.
So let's all be friends. No one is deciding anything for anyone. It sounds to me like you are mad because someone politely asked you to stop bad-mouthing the only dealer that has stepped up to offer us anything (at the time that someone talked to you).
but whatever, as long as you understand what I am sayin you should be clear on stuff.
Willc 02-28-2000, 06:48 PM jackwei, u just read my mind.haha i am totally with u.
jackwei 02-28-2000, 06:57 PM if no one made any decisions, why was I told to shut up? it was indeed polite, but you know what? it's a free country, I was only asked to stop because some people were upset at the dealer.
Specialty has made an offer, but I don't see how that makes them our unofficial sponser.
sounds like you are trying to not let me bite the hand that feels your rally team. I respect that, and you may do as you wish.
Orbiter has already basically said no to the possibility of Richmond Subaru being a sponser, so, I don't think you know what you are talking about.
I want to see this club prosper as much as anyone else, else, I would not have cleared up my comments about speciality.
I think we should let the dealers show us why they'd like to sponser us.
someone give Dock. a try too! maybe I will talk to them.
should I try saunders here in Victoria as well? I doubt it... http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/tongue.gif
oh, Patrick Richards, if we are all trying to be friends, don't make comments like that, don't attack me. that's not something friendly.
oh, and I think this should be our view on ideas and opinions of each club member.
and this is not quoted word for word.
"I do not agree with your opinions, but I will defend to death your right to say it."
ok, perhaps not to death.

again, no one made any decisions about anything. It looks like Orbiter told Jack to stop badmouthing the dealer so we can get a discount and Jack took that to mean that the club took some decisions without his input.
Well, as far as I know, no one made any decisions. But Jack, you should stop badmouthing people out of common sense, not out of any club 'decisions'.
I agree, no decisions should be made without 'club vote'.
jackwei 02-28-2000, 07:03 PM oh, and I have promised to stop bad mouthing them, if you interpret my messages wrong, not my fault.
actually, I believe I never DID bad mouth them. I told the truth. I told people my feelings and what I encountered. I have my reasons for saying these things, you do not know all of them, so, I don't think your should assume too much.
much like Orbby told someone not to go to Dock. by saying "A red shock? that's it! not warranty!" I was telling the person who as asking about dealers what I encountered.
if you had a PoS car made by a certain company, and it had problems, would you tell your friends to buy a car from the same company? I don't think so.
oh, and to you guys who don't think this. I do believe a company can change. Subarus I have encountered in the past (probably the pre-90s ones) were of poor quality, some even broke in half. but guess what I drive now! This happened on Subarus that were made in Japan too, not just by a contractor in another country.

This is a multiple mis-understanding man.
What I was trying to tell you is that whatever Orbiter told you, or about how he said "no" to Richmond, was all on his own and I agree about your comments that things like that should be a club thing and not his unilateral decisins.
The part I also wanted to relay was that I thought it would help the club to get Specialty involved, and that is what I arranged, and they promised to kick in.
I, nor anyone else, has anything to do with any discussions you have had with Orbiter, nor anything "official".
And how did I attack you personally ? By stating the truth ?
See, if you take a deep breath and re-read the entire listings, I am not atting you, but the other way around.
I admit being a ho, but to a certain point and everyone that knows me knows I dont sell out. I don't think you should either.
Oh I forgot, you can't "re-read" this because you keep editing your messages :-)
Foot in mouth syndrome.

jackwei 02-28-2000, 07:24 PM http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/smile.gif you're funny.
actually, I edit my messages because I don't proof-read while I type and I also think of certain things to add to my message that I think will help this discussion, I have not erased any parts of my messages. (Rewording, where meaning was not lost or changed doesn't count).
jackwei 02-28-2000, 07:35 PM I think both of us have posted enough in this thread, the members don't need you to tell them what I "look like" or that I have "foot-in-mouth syndrom" I think the members are intelligent enough to see that for themselves if that's the case.
I invite you to stop posting since I have made no more comments about the original topic, I wanted to see what the other members think, and voice some feedback on what they think. after all, this is a new club, and I think discussions will promote progress.
ya cool I stopped at the last one anywayz.
(oops)
Seriously, though, I'm not trying to attack you ! The FIMS was a joke man (note the smileys).
Orbiter 02-28-2000, 08:19 PM alright enuf outta u 2 =) heh

unlikely source eh?
ahh! don't close it!! :P it was a good comment... http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/wink.gif
First of all, every member has the choice to voice out their opinion. If one has encounter something good (or bad) with a dealer, he can certainly share with other members. So, there is no need to prevent anyone from sharing their experience. I, for one, had experience dealing with DDS and RmS. The service from RmS is very very bad, and I had recommand all my friends not to go there since then. That doesn't mean I am badmouthing the dealer; I am just speaking from experience!
Until now, we don't yet have a "Official sponsor". So why not let RmS try and see if they can come up with anything.
I don't know if two dealers involve will work in our club. But if need to be decide, every member will sure have a chance to vote on all the decision our club makes!!
Orb: don't close this thead.... let the members voice out!! http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/wink.gif
Willc 02-29-2000, 12:07 AM Sorry guys, it seems like i started the whole thing, personally I dont care which dealer is better, to me they are all the same. It's ones choice to go to which ver dealer, but i do agree with jack " we shouldnt mix a business into our club". I dont know about u guys, But i will go to any event no matter who is holding it. It' a impraza club, not a "whatever" dealer club. We should be happy that they are all willing to help out.
