Hey Guys,

Getting alot closer to making a final decision on a RS.
Just need a few more questions answered.

1. Guys with aftermarket mods.. How has the dealers treated you? Covered/Uncovered?

2. Where are you guys buying aftermarket parts? Ive noticed some of you have suspension kits.. That will be one of my first mods... If you dont mind.. where and how much?

3. Clutch? Ive test driven a new RS a few times.. The clutch was firm but how does it hold over time? Anyone have to change theirs yet?

4. Quality? Any weird quality issues? like things falling apart and breaking for no reason?

5. Again with the US spec bumper. I really want it. Ive read 1500-2000$ for the bumper installed. Does this include the fog lamps?
Reason im askin, I wouldnt mind ditchin the lamps and goin with STI covers instead.

well...I got Kg/mm from A&J down in Richmond about half year ago...
It's pretty hard to get good springs for Impreza now as not much places stock it...
I think Eibach, H&R, Tanabe, Tein all made springs for Impreza...
Yet Tein you may have to wait coz of the production line delay...
I won't recommand Eibach or H&R myself...
Tein is quite good and so does Kg/mm
Bumper swap for $1700 installed and painted included OEM fog lights...taxes might be included too...you have to check....diff place has diff price

I can get the bumper for about 1300-1400, that includes all oem lights and signals. Also an aluminum intake pipe if anyone's interested...I don't make it nor own the shop, just spreading the news. http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/smile.gif

Dont go to Docksteader.. they give u hell. "Whats this RED Shock?? this isnt factory.. no warranty!" *$(@()$&$()

Lots of places in town doin subby stuff now. Also this board has got TONS of group buys and advertisment for online stores sellin stuff for our cars. Shoudlnt be hard to find what u want for our cars now.

RS hydro clutch is a bit weak for my liking, i wouldnt change my clutch unless i was going tc.

Not really.. my o2 sensor died after a couple months, but nothing major since that. oh besides a new tranny.. but thats another issue =)

1500-2000 would include foglamps.. it better for that kinda change!. go sti covers, im gonna do dat.

Unless you're buying fake copies, getting the OEM foglights will be cheaper than the STi covers.

But to justify myself http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/wink.gif, I got my covers in HK and for some reason, the OEM foglights there are like $500-600cdn and the covers around $250-300. So I got the covers instead. It's cheaper to get OEM foglights here.

Oh btw, Subaru in HK only have the covers in white. So I gotta remove all the original STi stickers to paint them blue! http://208.9.184.110/NonCGI/frown.gif

Overall, if you plan to do major mods to your car, it will break down, no matter what car you buy ... example.. add a turbo, don't expect the clutch to last... it's all relative...

I have a 99RS bone stock...with around 23k on it... no problems so far... and I've launched the car at 3500Rpms lots of times...taken many hard corners (that's garanteed)...

Quality...overall pretty good...but there's a few rattles...my friend's 2000 Golf VR-6 is pretty impresive (interior finish) but he had more fun in my car drifting in snow or on gravel roads...

I always had japanese cars...all my friends own Hondas, Volks... would I buy another SUBE... Yes, without hesitation.
