Blindeye_03 05-31-2001, 06:48 AM more or less N/A is Naturally aspriated...meaning the engine runs at the same pressure as the atmosphere around it. When you equip your car with a turbo or supercharger, it is called forced induction and the pressure inside the engine is greater (i think) than the atmosphere. I am pretty sure I got that right..someone correct me if I am wrong http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif. Rowdy2.5 05-31-2001, 07:12 AM So would that mean that if you have a stock car (per say) it's NA? Where can I find a turbo kit that's not going to kill my budget? dirk.gecko 05-31-2001, 07:25 AM Define budget http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif To do a turbo right (make sure that the engine is reliable) it takes a serious amount of cash. $5k is the starting point for most kits, with good ones for $8k or more when you figure in engine management, guages, clutch, etc etc. And not to nit-pick, these are really questions for the "Newbie" forum. But if there's a bright side to everything, you have one of the premier US Subaru tuners not far away (Cobb Tuning) dirk couldnthinkaone 05-31-2001, 07:29 AM non-aspirated would mean it DOESN'T RUN! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lol.gif John2.5RS 05-31-2001, 05:00 PM That would be something. An electric motor, perhaps? watcher in the sky 05-31-2001, 05:51 PM To put it another way, when you are N/A your car breathes "on its own" so to speak. If you were to turbo charge her, the car wouldn't have to pull air out on its own, the turbo will force the air into the system. |
