could a s4 wrx match a stock corvettes high end, like from a roll to 120mph?

I wouldnt count on it, I took a 98 vette non-z06 from the line, but he was catching up on the high end, with my stg4 modded gt's give me hell at a 40 roll, I will win until they throw down a 150 shot....:(

Which corvette? The Z06 (most powerful) has 405 bhp. The C5 should have around 350-380 but I'm not sure. Depending on which turbo you used for your stage IV, you could make 400-450 bhp...

i meant a regular corvette

I've taken on a Z-06 with intake and exhaust and a regular C-5 Vette's, beaten them both. It would be close for a Stage 4 with a VF30 though.

i would not think twice, wrx vs a normal corvette, that is like 15 more horse power than a trans am , and that is a joke to the stage 4. Stage 4 hands down

He said from a roll. 15 more quoted hp (actually no difference), but 400-600 pounds of weight makes quite a difference. From a stop, no question. From a roll...no way I would call that a hands down win. Not on pump gas anyway.

Up to about 100MPH stage4 should be faster. After that the vette takes over. Not a matter of power, just that our 4th gear kinda sucks and AWD saps power.

I don't know about the stg 4 with VF30... but with an pe1820 the car just does slow down no matter how high the rpm needle is at. Z-06 has no chance on the roll what so ever. Trust me, I've done it ;)

Oh wow! It's another open racing thread on a "no racing posts" forum.

Do the mods around here have something against VW's, or do they just pick and choose which threads to lock and not lock.

I raced a 98 c5 from 80-@120 and it was pretty even, I pulled on him a little until I hit fuel cut bc I hit 21psi.

btw I have a stage 4 w/an ud pulley

zo6's run 12.20-12.30's with a good driver stock. maybe 115 mph. approximatley. c5 runs around 13.00. a stage 4 wrx with a decent driver should take a c5 up to at least 120. especially when starting from a stand still.

Street racing threads don't belong here. Thanks.
