My RS is under warranty but i would like some opinions before I take it in...
Okay, during the autocross last weekend my car made a squeaking noise from the engine bay after the first run. After that everything seemed fine til the end of the day. Then on startup the car made a clunking noise and a vibration that I can feel in the firewall. The only way to get it to make the noise is to start the motor or simulate a slalom and jerk the car back and forth. The last thing, when I startup the car in the morning I can hear a liquid rushing throught the motor or something, obviously it's coolant but I have never heard it before. The noise only lasts for about 2 minutes and the car doesn't overheat or anything.

The fluid thing, I have no idea, but the rest sounds like maybe you broke an engine mount.

If he autocrosses he can't use STI mounts. Unless he goes to a Mod class.

I had the same problem after hard launching a few times. Do you feel a clunky feeling on the clutch pedal too? I know i got the STI motor & tranny mount from cobb and it fixed the problem, the stock mounts are REALLY weak, and the STI's make a huge difference! So i'd bet my money that its a broken motor mount as well. As for the other things, i've notta clue. Keep us posted & let us know whats up.

Is the fluid noise coming from the heater core? I've read other posts about a fluid noise coming from the heater core and the conclusion was that it wasn't anything to worry about. But, you should do a search to check my memory.

So what are the common symptoms of broken tranny or engine mounts?
I've noticed some strange things in my car that started in January, and I'm not sure what the problem is. The first symptom occurs when I'm sitting at a stoplight with the tranny in Drive (yes, it's an automatic). After braking to a stop, the entire car begins to vibrate while idling (can be felt in the steering wheel and even the seats). However, the vibration stops if I shift the tranny to neutral or park. This vibration is especially bad when I turn the air-conditioning on.
Just last week I noticed if I put the car in neutral while parked in my driveway and rev the engine, a short, distinct chirp or squeal comes from the engine bay right when I lift my foot from the accelerator. It sounds like something is loose - perhaps an engine mount?
Also, what kind of repair costs would I be looking at to have the mounts replaced???

Thanks guys for the replies. I am taking the car in to the dealership on Monday so I will post the results shortly.
