So I am heading home to get ready to meet up with Porter and his buds in Buckhead (local bar scene)… I am going and accidently knock the car into N. I slip it back to D and continue to the stop sign about 300’ away. I take off and the tranny is a little rough, I look down and there is 0 speed regeistered. The needle is pegged on 0, no movement. I go oh ****, then BAM!! The CE light comes on and the car drops to 2 and won’t shift up to 3. Limp mode, I figure. I drove to a parking lot and turn the car off, turn back on and cycle the gear lever. Nothing, CE still on. I drive home with the tranny staying in 2 except for when I let off the gas and then it jumps between 2-3 and then stays in 2. I get home, figure an ECU reset is needed, do that the CE is gone, speedo works again but now when I put into D, it thunks some. I should definitely get his checked. When driving it seems to shift fine, maybe a little rougher from 2-3 but I don’t feel any slippage in the gears… any ideas what this might be?

How many miles? Do you shift through the gears when you 'race' at a light? What color is your tranny fluid? Miles since last tranny fluid change?

28,809 miles. i haven't checked my fluid yet. i was gonna tonight after work, no leaks though. i 'shift' at lights only drop to 3 under hard braking and quick stops and highway off ramps, and that shouldn't cause this...

how fast was the engine running (what rpms) when you put it back into D from neutral? i sure hope it wasn't running at anything above idle..
