What gives with mud flaps for the WRX wagon/sedan.

I want them. Bad.

I want them to look OEM.

I don't want to pay for them as if they were solid gold.

Why doesn't subaru make a mud flap for the WRX? I know there are STi flaps, I know there are prodrive flaps, I know there are whiteline flaps. But they all cost a lot and some look kind of like truck flaps to me.

So what I want to know is this: subaruparts.com says the OBS flaps will work on a WRX in the back, but you need to cut them with a hot blade to get them to fit around the moulding in the front. Has anyone tried this? These flaps are relatively cheap, and they look pretty good.

the side skirts sit outward much further than the outback cladding that's down there (if you even want to call it a skirt!)

basically, you have a couple of options.

1) Buy those flaps and cut - it'll work, but takes time and effort

2) Goto your local auto parts store and buy the el-cheapO large truck mudflaps, that you can cut down to size. This way, you get better coverage than the outback flaps, and you can size/cut them to look nice. A couple of people in Northern NJ have done this and they look decent.

3) Shell out the money and buy the prodrive mudflaps (no joke) for like 130 bucks front and rear from the UK.
