More seriously, I bought good headlight bulbs for mine and it made a world of difference. I bought the PIAA platinum series 80/80 bulbs. Very nice.

If dead stock I'd say Tires and a nice new kartboy shifter.

if you've already got the tires..

then possibly find a used Intake in private classifieds and a S-AFC.. I think I saw some in there.

Tires and an 18 or 20mm sway bar.

Rear Sway Bar.

for $500 you can get a good set of tires (i.e., kumhos) and a sway bar (18mm or 20mm), and still have a little bit left over to grab some food (sorry, it's lunch time right now and i'm hungry).

As for buy... I second a good driving course. $250 for a weekend. the most important mod you can make is improving your driving skills. PLus, you should have a much better idea of what you want to improve on your car after driving it around at the limit for two days. Larger sway bar and a short shifter will probably be what you have money leftover to buy. Maybe you can swing a few extra bucks and get some tires.
