Hi,
just moved from Australia, was a Subaru sales guy for three years, yes I miss the rex.
I have just bought a Impreza 1.8 wagon (std tranny)to get me around for 18 months.

It has a small leak that is finding its way onto the first junction of the exhaust and it stinks.
Would a bottle of "stop leak" be OK to stem the flow for the time being? Any reccomendations would be great.

I wouldn't put those stop leak stuff. I just wouldn't do it because I don't want to put anything besides engine oil in my engine.

That said, I would find the precise leaking point, and replace the gasket.
