i hooked everything up and got the basslink working.
very sweet.
but i still hear a loud squeal...

i rerouted all power cables down the driver side door sill's, and the rca's down the passenger side sill's.

when i turn the key twice, and the power comes on, i hear a loud squeal... definitly coming from the back of the car...
it goes away after about 5 sec. Then when i turn on the ignition, the sounds comes back and stays on.????

it's defintily not an exhaust leak, as it only started today.
any ideas?

thanks

pig in the trunk? :p

If the amp has any adjustment pots on it, try tweaking them back and forth a bit to 'clean' the contacts. You can also lightly push on them while the squeal is occuring. If this eliminates or alters the squeal, get some tuner cleaner from RadioShlock/etc and clean 'em up. Sometimes a dirty sensitivity or boost control can introduce some sort of feedback into the amp and cause squeal.

Also, check your grounds and signal paths. If there is a significant resistance between the grounds you can get a feedback loop through the ground, causing oscillation and squeal. If your signal wires are excessively long and routed close to a high current power wire (like fuel pump or ABS modulator) it can pick up the noise. Be sure your signal wires are at least 6" from your power wires and they cross power wires at right angles.

good luck.

all power lines are running down the driver side, and the rca's down the passenger side..

this is the funky thing....

if i remove my basslink (unplug everything, and take it out of the car)..... it still makes that new sound??????

i dont get it?!?

I would guess it's your fuel pump. Does it sound like relay chatter? It could be a short in your fuel pump, so it flips on and off. If you removed your speakers, then it definatly isn't anything to do with your stereo (other than a short or something, not the equiptment). Good Luck
