How come Subaru does not back a Dakar rally team. It seems sort of odd with all the money they spend on WRC. I mean the dakar is only the greatest race on earth.

Besides, the WRC is already a very costly and high profile series. It also lasts longer than a few weeks so they get better exposure. Calvin Katch_My_WRX 01-19-2003, 09:17 PM The could use a Baja liigod 01-19-2003, 09:19 PM Originally posted by Katch_My_WRX The could use a Baja id much rather see a forrester do it  Jon [in CT] 01-19-2003, 09:55 PM Originally posted by credit xtc How come Subaru does not back a Dakar rally team. It's obvious that Mitsubishi puts a lot of money into the Pajeros that run in the Dakar rally. But Subaru isn't trying to market any of its vehicles to the off-road crowd. Instead, Subaru targets its marketing $$$ toward people who drive on roads, paved or dirt. Dakar is not on the radar screen. credit xtc 01-19-2003, 11:30 PM why not the forrester esspeciallly with the new twin turbo.(sti Legacy). I can't see how the outback and forrester commercials target a different market then the pajareo or the x5 Brady 01-19-2003, 11:50 PM Originally posted by Jon [in CT] No, Le Mans is the greatest race on earth. Brady 01-20-2003, 12:33 AM umm, what are you talking about? Subie Gal 01-20-2003, 01:00 PM can you imagine the costs of not only trying to compete in the WRC championships.. but Dakar as well? Subaru's committed to rally... and has committed their funds to rally.... R&D.... testing... all focused on Rally... Dakar is another animal all together!! :) would cost them millions more in R&D/car development/testing/competing to do that as well... i think they're focusing on one type of motorsports at this point in time... maybe in the future? Dakar and Subaru would be great! :D cheers Jamie www.subiegalracing.com |
