I'm thinking of going to Second Creek on Friday around noon time. Anybody interested in meeting up for some lap sessions?

Rats, I've already commited to snowboarding. I've been itching to get the car out, too. BTW - is your car a wagon? If so, I think I remember you from the Hill Climb meet last year.

Too bad I only have winter tires, I'd really like to join you.:( Anyone want to loan me a set of good tires?:D

Diz - No, my car's a black RS coupe with gold wheels and a wing. I do have a wagon also, but I don't think its capable enough of going to second creek!!!

It's too bad you guys can't make it. We need to have a "gathering" to represent at Second Creek.

What are the requirements to go drive out there? I need to know because I want to go drive out there more than anything...

My car will hold up, but what are the qualifications for the driver?

$60 bucks, a helmet, and keep your eyes open! That's about it. Decent tires are also a bonus. It is truly a kick, but unfortunately I'm going to be in the Springs (Kicks Self), and my car is going to either be getting new warranty clutch, or new suspension. Either way, monday I'm going to have a new car!!! :)http://store4.yimg.com/I/rkperformance_1723_2378147

That's me on New Years Eve at Second Creek....Oh man, I want to go so bad! I will "HAVE" to go out there to sort out the new suspension though (at least that's the excuse I'm making) so I will let you all know when I am going to head out!

Dolphin -

$60 half day / $120 full day. I have never had to pay 120, even for more than 1/2 day. I've never really been there a "full" day though.

The winter season is the best time to go, especially during the week (weather permitting). The weekends are usually more crowded. The only time during the week it gets crowded is when special clubs are meeting; i.e. BMW, motorcycles, Mitsubishi, etc. Summer time is a totally different story. There are a lot more organized events throughout the week, and its hard to get the place to yourself. It usually helps to call in advance just in case the track is closed due to an organized event (303-371-6661). There have been days during the week when I was the only one out there. Those are the best days!

Tires? Definitely not snow tires. The better the tire, the faster you go!!

You need a helmet.

Make sure you have more than a 2/3 tank of gas. Preferably a full tank, so you can do more laps. Because the turns are banked well, you end up doing some serious g's in the corners, which ends up sloshing your fuel to one side of the tank, and makes your pump suck air. It's scary as hell the first time it happens and you don't realize what's happening. An STi gas tank would help since they are baffled, but when was the last time you saw one for sale at the local dealership?

Driver qualifications? Just a drivers license.

heck i don't even think they checked my drivers licence!

come on guys, make priorities not excuses. its tons more fun than anything else you would be doing. even if you just watch (which is free). my buddy in the stage 3 S4 should be there as well as the mighty 366whp galant vr-4.;)

it seems no one cares about our 2nd creek thread. too much excitement on other threads or perhaps its the weather. maybe if we got the great subaru god Bret to come we would have a better turn out. guess we'll have to see if this weather clears up first.

Colorado's BMW club website is:

www.rmcbmwcca.org

Come on people, let's get together for Second Creek! There never seems to be this much hesitation when people organize for Bandimere. Second Creek is much more apt to exploit the skills of a Subaru than a dragstrip.

I might go. I live 15 minutes away. I have two helmets if someone else needed one. Dont know if I want to take the nokians off and put the avs on though. If I come i'll bring some friends and other fast cars to play with us. If I hadn't been ripped off for the UTEC i bought off ebay, I'd for sure be there. Maybe I'll see you there. I need a pic of me on that track!!!

Well Guys, I won't be going to CO Springs tomorrow, but my car will still be in the shop. I'll try to head out anyway, maybe my roomate will want to go out and watch for a little while. If not, I'll be going on another Friday in the next couple of weeks to tune the new suspension. I'll let you all know!
