I have been looking at 17's for my rex (about 16-17#s), but 18" are looking very interesting. One wheel that I have found is sweet AND cheap, but the weight is 24#. Is this too much? How would it compare with rubber compared to 17s w/ rubber? The last thing I want to do is bog the car down - even though ride height will be the same.
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,
B-Kerr

24 seems pretty heavy even the P1 doesn't weigh that much and it is considered heavy at about 22#

My 18" Limix Linea BE-5 wheels are about 16.5 lbs each. I think the 24 pounders are WAAYYY too heavy for 18" rims. I would definitely suggest looking harder.

That's kinda what I'd been thinking... oh well, so much for cheap (and I mean cheap) wheels! :) I just talked to Nino from Nino's Auto Access, and the 18s on his personal car are only 13.5#!!! Gonna keep looking.
Thanks again guys,

my 18x8" ssr's are 14.7lb on the scale minus the center cap. Lightest 18" wheel I could find :). Almost 2lb lighter than stock...

18" SSRs are very light and very nice looking, but the Volk CE28N are the lightest I have ever seen. I think they're about 13.5lbs

Either 18 or 17" SSR's still lighter than stock. I love mine:) .

Cheap and relatively light (17.5 lbs) = Rota Subzero, assuming you can ignore the fact that lots of people have them and a couple of breakage reports. I pound the hell out of mine at the track and have had no problems whatsoever.
Good luck,
Scott
