wrexwagon 02-04-2003, 01:27 AM Hi Gary, I sent you a pm
Newbie Subie 02-04-2003, 02:18 AM I'm in!
hiwrx 02-04-2003, 03:04 AM I am sooo sooo in on this, especially since I got my JDM lights recently. I am to assume that this leveling switch will correct somewhat the beam pattern of my RHD projectors? Also, does this harness have some sort of module which needs to be placed in the engine bay? If so, where? Only asking because space is limited, especially behind each headlight (one of which is nuzzled up next to my alarm horn). Please respond as best you can. I want to be in on this for sure!
amitofu 02-04-2003, 05:53 AM PayPal sent. My headlights are aimed way to high now and I think I blind other drivers badly. I don't like my high beams though since it turns the fogs off and I can't see the road in front of me. I don't want to rewire the fogs to work with the parking lights or any of that. This should fit the bill perfectly.

ellisnc 02-04-2003, 07:10 AM what's the cost if we already have the switch?
pittkid333 02-04-2003, 08:28 AM Gary, I want one but I have a few questions. I'll pm you about them.
Leonardo 02-04-2003, 09:08 AM I'll take one but I need your addy to send the MO deposit.
The thing is, how much to send as deposit as it's still too early to say what will be the final price.
And
what's the cost if we already have the switch?
Ditto!
Leo
MaximusRex 02-04-2003, 10:51 AM Im in also. Im still waiting on my lights though.
Brian
Ok Gary, I was involved in the recent LHD STI Lights and I want in too! Will send you the money soon when I return back to NYC in a couple of days time.
Jin
SUPAREX 02-04-2003, 02:14 PM I am interested, but I am wondering what will they actually do for us?
I am on the group buy for the LHD lights also, and assume these lights will be aimed properly from the factory, right?
Why do we need to have adjustment motors for them?
Just for the fun factor?:p
timjgx 02-04-2003, 02:21 PM The lights must be aimed after you install them, even if you are using this leveller switch.
From what I understand this switch is on all cars in Europe (and maybe Japan), and all cars with HID's in the US. Basically, It's so you don't blind people, and it's cool
- tim
eden3336 02-04-2003, 02:31 PM I'm in too. Sending $60 as deposit, please let me know if you want more. BTW, could the switch ship along with the LHD headlight I bought at last GB?

Sorry for the double post, I have no idea why it happened
SUPAREX 02-04-2003, 03:09 PM Ok, Gary,
Sending deposit.:)
YochiRex 02-04-2003, 05:27 PM Gary, please count me in. I've sent you $65 for the deposit.
gary,
can you give me an approximate for the gb to close? thanks.
hiwrx 02-04-2003, 09:34 PM Hi there. Still waiting patiently for a reply to my earlier question. Would really like to know more about how this switch/harness works. If anyone else knows, please respond also. I really would like to be in on this, but would like a little more info.
Thanks!
The switch is to turn the light "down" when you have weight in the back, so your light projection won't shine right into oncoming and/or cars in front, and blind the other drivers with your headlight.
No, it won't adjust your light pattern from RHD to LHD(it is dictated by the headlight innards).
cmaj7 02-04-2003, 10:35 PM The switch and lights are different for Prodrive and JDM lights...just so ya know.....I'd be interested in buying just the harness that plugs into the back of the switch...I've got mine working but it's something of a chop job...be nice to clean things up a bit!!
Thanks
Leonardo 02-05-2003, 09:02 AM To add to my questions, when does the GB close?

hiwrx 02-05-2003, 10:58 PM Much mahalo for the response, Gary. I guess I'm out. I'll just fiddle around with an 8mm socket on my rhd lights...
pittkid333 02-06-2003, 04:16 PM Gary, P.M.'ed you.
Gary,
I know you said STi lights only, but would these work on the Prodrive lighst which also have the motors in them?
How much for just the harnass if we already have the switch?

forgive my ignorance as i'm still trying to figure out all these different, overseas light assemblies. but does this mean that these will not work with the rhd sti projectors?
Mark Nolte 02-22-2003, 06:16 PM I just swapped out my RHD for LHD. Noticed the small assembly that turns out to be the motor on the LHD. And the additional plug recepticle. I suppose this justifies the price that WRXMotorsports asks for their LHD.
Anybody got any experience with the motorized lamps? Does this mean I can level the headlights when I'm carrying bags of cement in the trunk?

Just to double check... this will work with LHD STi lights w/ aftermarket HID, correct?

mr2guru 02-23-2003, 10:47 PM I believe it will work with ALL LHD STi lights and only JDM lights that were oem HID as the halogen JDM (RHD) lights didn't come with motors installed.

This harness is just for the leveling motors only....
So you would still need H1/9005 connectors/harness if you have EDM Sti lights.
SUPAREX 03-20-2003, 09:46 AM This harness is just for the leveling motors only....

dookiebob 03-29-2003, 05:53 PM So have these things shipped yet? I feel like I am pulling teeth trying to get answers on where my $130 went... I've never been involved in a group buy with this little vendor participation :(
If they have shipped, please give me a tracking number ASAP. If not, please tell me when they will ship, and when they have shipped.
If I sound somewhat upset, then you've got me pegged. The deal was that we would RECEIVE the units 3 weeks after the group buy closed. Not everyone has time to make a free weekend to install things like this, as I planned one month ago to install the units today.
-Bob
Leonardo 03-31-2003, 09:22 AM Any updates on this?
Alright guys... here's the deal...
WRXMotorWorks vendor contract expired this month, and I have been trying to contact them since the 15th. The last contact I had with them I told them as soon as they sent me a contract and payment I would open up their account access again. They have still not contacted me back yet.
So as of this point WRXMotorWorks is no longer a vendor with NASIOC. Unless of course by some miracle they send me a contract and payment before midnight tonight.
I'm sorry for anyone caught up in this GB.
Here is all the contact info I have on WRXMotorWorks so you can call or e-mail to try to contact them.

Just because he lost vendor status doesn't mean he can't complete the group buy. Hopefully you're not right... I already had my bad experience with the boost monkey (I'll try not to get started on that bum), and I'd like not to have another one.

That is 100% correct. This does not affect the GB, but it does affect Gary being able to communicate through the site. I'm trying to work out the details with him now.
-Nick
Well Gary and I were not able to come to an agreement, so he will no longer be a vendor here at NASIOC.
Please see the details I posted previously to get in contact with him if you need any help with your ordered items.
Sorry it had to come to this.

mr2guru 04-01-2003, 09:19 AM Seems like a lot of vendors are bailing on this site....I see quite a few posts from vendors saying something to the effect "This will be our last post as a vendor....etc..." why is that? :o
Anyway, I have delt with wrxmotorworks and gary in the past and no one should have any doubt that the product will arrive.
Nick, I don't know the details of your disagreement with gary other than what you stated. But it does somewhat affect ppl (other members) on this GB. Couldn't you just put permissions to allow gary to post to this thread only until the GB is over?
-Jim

Nick, I don't know teh details of your disagreement with gary otehr than what you stated. But it does somewhat affect ppl (otehr members) on this GB. Couldn't you just put permissions to allow gary to post to this thread only until teh GB is over?
-Jim
Jim,
I think some of the vendors that you might have seen leaving were ones only that might have only been here for a short time. I did just recently do some major house cleaning of vendors this month. Most were vendors that just "forgot" to pay for their membership or stopped using it and never let me know.
I wish that were possible to give him permission for just this thread, but it's sort of an all or nothing. I'm still trying to get Gary back on the site, so I haven't lost hope yet.
-Nick
dookiebob 04-01-2003, 01:31 PM Nick, I think I have lost hope :(
I gave Gary 24 hours to get back to me with a shipping/tracking number. If he does not give me that, I will ask Paypal to refund the second half of my payment for the kit, and I will consult the FBI for the first half.
I do not take internet fraud or poor service lightly. If (and maybe when) I do consult the FBI, I will ascertain a list of names so that we can all get our money back.

Wow talk about some major dislexia
Anyway, Nick...I see :)
Bob-
Did he get back to you at all either way? Gary's been around a while so he's not scamming you unless he's changed his ways.

He's still waiting on a part to come from anotehr vendor, so he has no shipping/tracking# to give you. Just because a vendor is not on this site anymore does not make him a fraud, it just means he doesn't want to pay teh fees (I'm assuming tehr are some?) to be a vendor here anymore. I think you're going WAY overbored at this point. He emailed me back within minutes to let me know what was going on, so I don't think anyone's getting scammed.

edit: uhh sweet april fools joke. I thought I was just totally a bad speller for a minute there
dookiebob 04-01-2003, 06:36 PM This is the response I got from Gary:
Hi Bob,
I should have them soon,
The vendor getting the harnesses to me has ben delayed, i have the swtiches just waiting on the harnesses to ship them out.
I'm suprised everyone is getting so worried about $120 harnesses
I think Nick and I will things out shortly.
Thanks
Gary
Two things:
1) When it is your hard earned $130 sent, then YOU will worry like me when you have had NO communication and your product has been promised to be shipped (but had not).
2) Is the final price $120 or $130? I know that I paid $130... :( I'd at least like to get my $10 back if so.
timjgx, sorry for going "way overboard ". If you have seen scams by people like variablegear, Aus Scoobie, SXPi, and others, you would know that they all started in exactly the same way. Big Group Buy or sale, then poof! Gone! It may be trivial to you, but the $130 out of my pocket was most certainly not. If you've been taken for a ride before on internet fraud like I have, you have very little tolerance for anything resembling it.
I am not accusing Gary to be a fraud (yet). I DO accuse him of providing poor service and communication about where my money went or where my goods are.
I hope that he does regain Vendor status... but that's the least of my concerns right now.
-Bob

Well I just hope this all turns out okay. I got a quick response from him and that's definately encouraging. I have had a bad experience when I purchased my boost monkey and was promised replacements time and time again but never saw any. I understand you've had bad experiences but jumping to conclusions just makes everyone else paranoid. The FBI is not going to help you with poor customer service, so until it's obvious we're not getting what we paid for tehn let's leave tehm out of it. ;)
It was $130, at least that's what I paid ??? I'm pretty sure that was teh final price. We needed 1 more person to drop teh price.
by teh way, this april fools joke sucks! tehy are doing t-h-e same things on a few otehr boreds and it's driving me nuts! :p
- tim
dookiebob 04-01-2003, 06:47 PM BTW, I gave him 24 hours to return the second half of my payment. If he does not return it, I will have Paypal forcefully return it. I told him that I would pay him the second half when he has the parts IN HAND.
This April fool's day joke DOES suck. It's not even funny
-Bob
Leonardo 04-01-2003, 09:18 PM what prank?
When he gets the parts in, I'll send in the second part of the payment.
Leo
dookiebob 04-02-2003, 01:06 AM Gary just Paypaled me my ENTIRE payment, instead of just half. He said:
Note from Seller:
Thanks for your participation in our group buy, unfortunately we have to assign your position to another member.
Thanks
Gary
No love lost here, Gary. Now I have $127.96 (Paypal fees taken  ) that I can use towards buying a PSI 3 engine computer :D
I hope the rest of you guys get your stuff. I'm just happy that I know where my money is.

WRX-78 04-02-2003, 10:00 AM Way to go Bob! Glad you got your money back. I will refrain from commenting on certain vendors. But I will comment on service. I can understand a 'No Refund' situation if and only if the buyer gets cold feet and backs out or lacks the money.
I do not, however, approve of "we will have it in X number of weeks" knowing full well that you can't get it by that time due to supply chains out of your control.
So basically, the person gets to hold your money ransom while other opportunities to purchase an item pass you by. Or you're just fed up with waiting and optimistic promises and timeframes. Tell me if that's fair?
I've learned a very valuable lesson from all of this. I'm not paying for something that's not in stock.
Bob, I wouldn't sweat the Paypal fee deduction. It is fair since the vendor loses a 'sale'. It's cool you got most of your cash though.

I couldn't agree with you more. Group buys have been mostly good to me in the past, with guys like Nino and Leatherseats.com. Those guys run a lot of GB's and constantly update you on the status of your order. I'm not singling out Gary or WRXMotorworks, but if you lose Vendor status and have an unfortunate backup in your supply chain, then you are OBLIGATED to tell all of your buyers what is going on. Especially when you are holding someone else's money.
I'm glad at least someone sees my point... I felt like I was the only one worried about where my $130 went :disco:
-Bob
BTW, the PSI 3 engine computer will be a much better usage of my money :D
WRX-78 04-02-2003, 04:20 PM $130 bucks? Bah. That's chump change. KIDDING. :D

I'm using Quantum-Racing ( www.quantum-racing.com ). Right now, they are not in stock, but Mark says they'll be in shortly. He is taking pre-orders right now :D They cost around $500 with the WRX sized pod, less without it.

What exactly does this computer do in layman's language?
Thanks
dookiebob 04-03-2003, 02:19 PM Originally posted by SUPAREX

Basically, it is a real-time OBD-II reader. It can give you instant readings on anything that the ECU is monitoring (i.e. boost, RPM, Throttle position, coolant temp, batter voltage, road speed, intake temp, fuel injector pulse width, ignition point (in degrees), knock correction, lambda A/F ratio, Mass air flow meter, and more). It can also read current and historic CEL's and also delete them (the deleting part is getting fine tuned, as deleting a CEL with the current firmware causes an entire ECU reset--will be fixed in the future). It has the ability to run an optional adjustable shift light. The ability to read EGT (via stock uppipe sensor or aftermarket sensor), oil temp, and oil pressure will be added in an edition in the near future.
The coolest part about it are the alarms... you can set limits for your core values to beep an alarm whenever you go over them. It also remembers what you peaked at--great for finding out how much boost you really made at peak.
Since it takes the place of your clock, it also has a clock built in so that you know what time it is.
So in summary, it is a digital gauge pack with a TON of extras. For $500, it is a steal :D You can find out more about it at www.psi3.co.uk . Check out the flash demo, and then see if you're scrounging for money like me to buy one.

SUPAREX 04-03-2003, 04:52 PM Thanks for the info. I'll check it out!
SC WRX 04-07-2003, 04:55 PM So, have any leveller switches shipped yet?
Leonardo 04-08-2003, 10:33 PM Yes please, back to topic!!!
WTH is taking so long? I haven't sent in my second half for fearing this would happen.
Please update this!
Leo
timjgx 04-08-2003, 10:37 PM He told me yesterday he's still waiting on the harnesses (I think, I read the email quickly) but they should be in soon.

dookiebob 04-11-2003, 06:22 PM Man, I'm sorry to hear you guys are STILL waiting for your switches. If you call your CC companies, you may still be within the window of opportunity to get your money back. If you used PayPal, file a complaint and ask for a refund.
If you complain enough, and to the right people, you will get your money back. That's what I did.
Hope that helped,

SUPAREX 04-21-2003, 01:21 PM UPDATES, PLEASE!
Leonardo 04-22-2003, 11:57 AM I know this is on the same boat as Mike's GB so I'll keep it short.

Leo:mad:
SUPAREX 04-22-2003, 12:16 PM I know this is on the same boat as Mike's GB so I'll keep it short.
Leonardo,
Most of us aren't doing any better on the WRX Motorworks GB either. I guess you were in that one originally, and got out and went to the Xpress Motorworks GB.
At least in the WRXMotorworks GB a few people received their lights.
What is going on with these damn GBs it's so frustrating!!!!!
Leonardo 04-22-2003, 01:25 PM Oh, and BTW, Gary, I know you logged on today!
Any reason why you didn't update us?
I hope you are more sincere than Mike!
Leonardo 04-23-2003, 05:26 PM Ok, for those of you that sent in Credit Card/Paypal deposits/payments, file a complaint. This has gone far enough and I get a bad feeling. IF Gary sends the parts, or supplies a VALID tracking #, the action/complaint can be canceled.
For those that sent MO, keep your fingers crossed!
Leo
timjgx 04-24-2003, 12:59 AM The payment(s) were sent more than 30 days ago so Paypal can't (won't) take any complaints... At least in my case. I sent my second half back on March 1st. Hopefully some people waited longer, but 23 days later?? :(
This really bothers me because I've only purchased a few things for my Subaru online and I've had 2 problems now. This and the Boost Monkey that I never received. I never had any problems purchasing stuff for other cars in the past, so maybe it's just bad luck. :(
- tim
gary501 04-24-2003, 01:28 AM Guys sorry the harnesses are still in production.
If you guys don't wont the harness i will sell the switches separately for $65 and refund the difference.
Otherwise i guess you need to wait.
Sorry but there is not much i can do to get them faster.
Thanks
Gary

Leonardo 04-24-2003, 10:28 AM They are still in production? how many are done? Start sending out as they are done as I'm sure there should be some of them done.
I mean, correct me if I'm wrong!
If you send the switch first, will you send the harness by itself later? If so, I will take that switch now. If not, I'll let you know!

Shwdwn Kid 05-14-2003, 06:07 PM Well, Newbie Subie I was told the same thing by this lady at WRX Motorworks "They will be shipping Friday" she even read my real name off of the shipping list. But, unlike you this call was made 4-8-03 after I got back from a trip out of the country. Hopefully she did not tell you this just to get you off the phone (That seems to be my case:( ).
I really hope she is being truthful with you.
Oh yeah, I'm sitting here right now with my fingers crossed.

Got the plugs and all materials needed.
Now it's a matter of getting the vendor to make the wiring harness.
Thanks

Selling for what Gary charged me after I said I didn't need it anymore as I sold the lights. "There is no refund" but of course, that is not in his posts anywhere. SO he lost money shipping snd now I have to do the same.
That is, if the switch is in Mail Boxes Etc. when I go ther today!
I haven't got anything yet. Come on , please send me my stuff.

Newbie Subie 08-15-2003, 11:37 AM Yea Gary I'm getting a little pissed off. I'm in CA and I paid you in full!
The only thing I have received is lies so far!
Called you two months ago and was told they were being shipped two days later. LIE
You wont even return my phone call.
:furious:
Shwdwn Kid 08-15-2003, 02:20 PM O.K.....Some of us have received switches, some have not, and no harness for anyone.
Now I'm confused because I thought that what we had been waiting all these months for was the harness. You can get these type of switches practically anywhere.
Now I look a few posts up and Gary is saying now it's a matter of getting the vendor to make the wiring harness:huh: (Wasn't that what we were waiting for???)
Someone PLEASE tell me if i am wrong or misunderstood on what part we had been waiting on. Also, I'm curious if all of us had received the same type of switches (Mine was a Nissan switch).
timjgx 08-15-2003, 03:00 PM Well the thing I'm confused about is how someone could pull such a SCAM and still live with themselves. Gary you made off with what, $2600 at least?
