Pardon the slang on the title but that was they only way of saying it(i just woke up).

Well has it happend. It can range from the WRX guys saying they like your body style more to....yup it is has a turbo, thats heavily modified, or even I wanted to get one but they're so hard to find.

I'm asking everyone to brag:D

The only WRX I ever had give me props was from the guy I worked with because I destroyed him on a freeway onramp. I was behind at the beginning of the onramp and once we started accelerating, I was ahead by the time the onramp merged into 1 lane. And of course, since we were getting on the onramp, we were accelerating fast because we wanted to be going the speed of traffic by the time we got on the freeway. ;)

Sure all the time. I was talking to one WRX owner, when his friend came up to him and said "his car (my RS) looks better than yours," the guy with WRX just said I know. :D

Of course, all in the name of a safer merge.

Exactly, Nothing pisses me off more than being stuck behind someone that is going 35mph to get on the freeay. :)

That reminds me I was stuck in traffic this morning. It was so dead stop I was able to ask the people on the side what the accident was all about. Some one chose to drive 35mph in a 50 zone single lane hwy and when someone going the posted limit came around a blind corner....wham!

nah...they don't give me any "props."

until i show them that subarus made before the WRX can still easily hold their own. :D

Only the past old body style owners really. There are few WRX owners that I've met that take interest in the old style. Probably because it doesn't have a turbo or something. But oh well, I accept their thanks in the fact that the WRX is over here because of the RS.

Body-wise, I get props all the time.
Performance-wise, I've been smoked twice.

Let's see the STi shatter their egos…

When I lived in Miami, people always stopped to look at my car. They'd say , "hey, nice WRX". Fools.

I did have some people recognize the car after a while and they said it was 100% better than the WRX, even without the turbo. It went so far as people began to leave notes asking if they could buy my car!:o  I met a guy from Bolivia that wanted to buy it so he could use it as a rally car back home.

Anyway, I'll keep the RS....for a very long time.:)

I just get dissed on the waves from WRX drivers...I wave but they don't wave back...I guess my car isn't good enough for them...

My best friend drives a WRX...I always tease him about how much better my car looks...then he smokes me on a straight...but I always catch up in the corners...

When the WRX was first released, A made it a point to try to gt their attention but gave up after a while. Maybe it's just phoenix though.

ALthough, it does seem to be getting better as more of them join here :)

Don't worry. :) I get the same treatement.

My RS is invisible to most WRX owners, I like it that way. Its like knowing a good restaurant, your favorite road, or something you just don't want spoiled by a large group. :D

eh, whatever.

my new "intake" will help out a bit...it's this kind that forces air into the engine... ;)

i don't think i've ever gotten props from a wrx owner...
if they do notice my car, they either look at it as though they know it's a subaru but don't know what kind, or make a point to zoom by it... that is IF they even notice my car.
i do get props from other rs owners... usually the double take kind (just like i do everytime i pass an rs...), or the thumbs up.

Yeah.. it's sad.. All I hear is now is WRX... WRX and WRX.. it seems most people forgot what the GC8/2.5RS is.. Lets not forget the 2.5RS 1.8 and 2.2L all paved the way for the WRX that was to come. and I still perfer the Gc8 body style over the WRX.. It just has a bolder look.

Takashi
02-07-2003, 02:31 AM
but also, you can't forget how good the wrx is in itself...
when the wrx finally came here, it appealed to a much larger crowd... (i know, i know... duh)
that being said, i don't really find it suprising that a lot of people who bought (and will buy) the wrx don't really know how unique the 2.5rs was at the time AND how important the success of the 2.5rs was in bringing the wrx here to the states.
hmmmmm.... a couple beers, and i can't write gud english :D

And not to forget the Body style of the Gc8... It was from what 1991 all the way to 2001.. not bad at all..

Don't feel too bad guys. 3/4 of the WRX owners I "give props too" don't wave back or acknowledge with anything but an empy stare. I'm almost to the point of giving up. I think I will start waving at Honda's.

Heh heh... I just laugh as I blow by WRX owners. Beware the RS-t. ;) A few give me the thumbs up. Mostly they ignore me nowdays though. Occasionly they try to zoom past and lose.

The GC style was released in 92 in Japan and 93 here. Imagine what sales would be like if the WRX came out as the GC style here. All I ever here from people is, "damn I wish the WRX wasn't so ugly", or "I wish it looked like yours so I could get one". :D

Ive had a WRX owner say "So, you couldnt afford the WRX?" and "Why would you even buy that car if you could buy a turbo version?" Ive only talked to a couple WRX owners that actually liked the body style..... only because they used to own one.

GC8 owners always wave back at me and I only wave at WRX owners if I can tell its been modded (because they might be on this club)..... even then they dont wave.

IMHO.. I am dead set on getting a WRX when i get the money. Though I am a fan of the old body style. It had a much rougher look that seems to show power. The WRX though is quite deciving because it looks like a smiley face looking at you with two big buldgy eyes, yet it's a powerhouse.

I'd love an RS-T, it'd take more work but I think it's a shame that people that have WRX ignore their elders. :D

Ive had WRX ppl wave at me...but what really chaps my ass is when i get gas or sumthing and ppl ask me if its a WRX and i have to explain that its not a WRX and doesnt have the Turbo they seem all disappointed. I wanna go turbo but cant if cuz im moving to CA in a couple of years and wanna pass emissions...i might have to do a WRX swap if i wanna have turbo and still be legal:rolleyes:

Yeah old body style just had that "look" I still think that was a "Rough" change from the old body style to the new one.. I'm just starting to like it. I dunno why people sound disapointed because the Gc8 did not have a turbo from the factory.. it still does not mean it was not fast.. Yeah sure the Speedo only went up to 124MPH I think.. and the WRX goes up to 140..

Must of been a good strong sales then.. lol kinda hard to picture the WRX on a GC frame.

I get a lot of "I like your body style better" comments. Most of the time they usually go on and say they wish that it had come with a stock turbo on it. And that's usually the first question I get, is it (or did you) turbo.

Anyhow, I have a good story happened from today's autocross. One of the WRX guy's parents came; they owned a WRX too aparently. Anyhow, the mother asked the group, what kind of Subaru that (my RS) was. Someone answered, it was an impreza and of an older body style and she said that she liked the design better. Made me smile, and I have a big grin on my face right now typing this...

LOL, word to you mother! :p

My car was in the shop for a while and i got an L loaner car. I got a lot of compliments from random people. I also like the GC bodystyle a lot more, but they didnt make a 2.5L wagon or i'd be driving it.

I get the occasional thumbs up from WRX drivers, at least the one's that know about the Impreza history. Then there's the drivers that don't have a clue as to the previous Impreza bodystyle so they don't know anything about it. I get props from other GC8 owners. All in all, people who know the history of the WRX and Subaru give me props, the newbies who only bought it without previous knowledge about Subarus don't even notice me.

So much hate for the WRX owners :(

I just took my buddy to look at a 2001 coupe, took it for a test drive, I loved it! Just doing my part to spread the love.

Today I was going home and a WRX pulls next to me. I look and smile with a thumbs up. WRX drive looks at me nods and revs so I can hear his BOV:confused: When the light turns green I take off at 1bar of boost and my BOV screems. We get to the next light. WRX drive rolls down the window..."hey your RS isn't suppose to be turbo!" I reply"I know thats why the STI is trying to copy us RST owners"

 What a wonderful day.
