Hi all, I'm wondering if someone has experienced this particular problem before and may give me some suggestions. My car is a 1999 Impreza Outback Sport with the 2.2L engine. The check engine light has come on, the car is idling poorly, and seems to have a sudden onset of "lack of power" during acceleration. The diagnostic code points directly to the purge valve solenoid (duty solenoid for fuel vapour canister purge) although I've put in a new part and the dealer has verified the new part is working and all wiring is good. They currently suggest replacing the main relay.

Any ideas our there?
