another question about the 'harness' is this the harness for the leveling switch, the harness for bulbs or both?

the harness is for both the switch and the bulb

Just emailed ya with a few questions, like how much to ship to Canada. Oh yeah, are these the smoke or chrome projectors? I'm also assuming non-HID because of the low price.

I thought the price was kind of steep, but then realized you are also giving the leveling switch and harness, so its not a bad deal. Are the switch and harness subaru OEM parts or are they custom made?

xpressmotorworks

The switch is OEM the harness is made to plug right in to the existing harness.

I think you might have better luck filling this Group Buy if you took 25 names first, then accepted their deposits. I, for one, am wary about giving up $400 non-refundable to be #3, waiting indefinitely for 22 others to join in, just so I can wait another 6-8 weeks thereafter for lights to ship from Europe.

That's just my suggestion.

WRX-78
02-27-2003, 02:09 PM
I would tend to agree, assuming the 25 all commit to the purchase of course.

xpressmotorworks
02-27-2003, 10:27 PM
We need people to sigh up so others will to if everyone waits for others to sign up first it will take long and eventually the group buy will not happen

One more thing is you guys are saving around 80.00 and I don’t think any other vender will do this type of group buy with out some sort of deposit, if not payment in full.

Thanks Mike

Wraith
02-28-2003, 11:56 AM
And its not a huge hit to the wallet at one time too.... $400 now and the rest will be down the road. Most of the other ones I've seen on here require you to do the payment all at once

I keep seeing sales for LHD lights, but haven't found anyone that can show me a part number that is different than the RHD projectors.

Mike, can you demonstrate that these are actually LHD? Some factory marking, or part number that I can verify would go along way to getting me on board.

Thanks

flyboy
03-11-2003, 09:20 AM
This thread shows the beam pattern of the LHD lights.
STi LHD (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=305105&highlight=STi+LHD+lights)
(pic's in the middle of the thread)
The light projection on the right side is noticeably higher than on the left side - as it should be for US cars.

Now here's the beam pattern for the JDM STi HID's. (I'm assuming the the HIDs have relatively similar patterns as standard projectors - I could be wrong)
STI JDM HIDs (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=323319&highlight=STi+LHD+lights)
(second pic from the top)
The light's noticeably higher on the left side. This would be appropriate for countries with RHD cars, where road signs would normally be situated on the left side of the road. In North America, that's where oncoming traffic is, so unless you aimed them really low (reducing their effective range) RHD lights would shine directly at oncoming traffic.

I thought I saw a post once where the EDM part number was listed, but I did a search and couldn't find it. Suffice it to say, there are documented differences.

For example, the STi is sold in Switzerland, Germany, and several other European countries which are LHD countries. So, just by that fact, you know that STi headlights are sold for LHD cars.

Next, there are the differerences between the LHD and RHD lights. As mentioned by Flyboy, the beam pattern is different. The RHD lights are aimed to shine higher to the right, which is fine in Japan/UK/Aust, but would blind oncoming traffic in the US. That is why many in the US won't buy the RHD lights.

Also, the Euro LHD STi lights have a leveller motor contained within the lights. The JDM RHD non-HID STi lights do not have the leveller. Therefore, the fact that xpressmotorworks is selling the leveller switch with the lights means that you are getting the LHD lights.

Finally, the Euro LHD STi lights are the only STi lights that are DOT approved. That should be indicated somewhere either on the light or on the box.

If you have any lingering doubts as to whether there are any differences between LHD and RHD STi lights, just look through the other LHD group buy threads, or do searches.

So, now that you know there are tangible differences, you no longer have an excuse not to join in this group buy!

I saw the $875 listed as until 3/7 then I saw another post with the quote "Guys this is still going its going to go till there is no one else left send you deposits by paypal so you can get the new price".

So the question I have is.....

....is the price $950 or $875?

Thanks much!

Wraith

babyblue, it is my understanding that it's just an H1 bulb(low beam). So just like any other HID conversion, take out the halogen and pop in the HID, direct replacement into the housing. H1 is a common size that any HID manufacturer should carry

I am sure Mike is just pretty busy, and that he probably doesnt have any updates to post otherwise he would have posted already :).

Mike -- to avoid any misunderstandings, I think it would be best if you post every day or so even if it's just to say "hello, still waiting on X number of ppl"

Can we also get a projected close date?

Unfortunately its the amount of money involved that is dictating the patience of the buyers, esp. for all the guys that paid in full already.

Yeah, I think it's a great deal on a set of fantastic looking lights. Don't get me wrong. We're not asking vendors to be slaves to this board but a little communication goes a LONG way. Especially when trusting club members throw big bucks around. Let's face it our hobbie's not cheap, and we'd all like to feel more secure.

Reading the other threads on here about delays, delays, and more delays doesn't help matters. I can honestly say if I had to do it over again I'd think a little longer before making a commitment. Then again I'd sing anyone's praises if I can get my hands on these lights. :)

Arghh don't tell me I'm going to get screwed out of my deposit. I've been in this GB, since near the beginning and the only reason I haven't paid the balance is for fear of losing $900. This stinks. A few other vendors like CC-B have had the lights IN STOCK and I can't afford the investment since I have a deposit on this GB already. :(

The terms of this GB have changed too many times, extended deadlines, lower price up to a certain date, etc. It's all confusing to anyone else wanting to join in with the changing terms. Leonardo, please help.

I will patiently wait again until April 15th. If the terms change yet again (price fluctuates or deadline extended). I'm going to have to ask for my money back.

I feel worse about those with deposits in place. Was he verified on paypal?

I feel very fortunate that I balked at this price. I apparently delayed my deep desire for a set of these long enough that he hasn't even replied to my messages trying to put a deposit down.

Alright guys... here's the deal...

xpressmotorworks vendor contract expired this month, and I have been trying to contact them since the 15th (now the count is up to 6 e-mails) and I have only recieved one reply. The reply said they were in the middle of the GB. I told them I understand and and soon as they sent me a contract and payment I would open up their account access again. They have still not contacted me back yet. The last two e-mails were asking them to please contact me and let me know what was going on.

So as of this point xpressmotorworks is no longer a vendor with NASIOC. Unless of course by some miracle they send me a contract and payment before midnight tonight.

I'm sorry for anyone caught up in this GB.

When you know your screwed ACT FAST. I've given up on this GB, I want to salvage any money that I can. I payed through Paypal with my credit card and have already filled out the CC purchase dispute form for un-delivered goods.

I suggest those who payed with a CC do the same. I also noticed the ---motorworks coincidences but chalked it up to maybe they were friends. But who knows Mike and Gary might be the same guy.

Nick and all mods, you run a fine site. But this Vendor Status fiasco will keep me from ever buying from these boards again. My 1st and sadly last attempt at GB.

So basically any joe can pay your site to get this Vendor Status and that's it?! Not much in the way of buyer insurance if ya ask me.

Time is of the essence people. Contact your CC company now.

I'm wary of an ass that posts in all caps now, shoulda figured.

To those who are upset with this...

We are very diligent in trying to keep bad vendors off the site. And most of these businesses are internet based this isn't an easy thing to do. But out of the number of vendors we have here occurances that cause problems like this are few and far between. When you increase the number of vendors and number of members of course the times this occurs is also going to increase.

Don't let this burn you from buying this ever again. I'm sure you wouldn't react the same way just having one bad experience from a store like Best Buy, so try to be a little more reasonable in your reaction.

This particular situation is being taken care of Mike has just e-mailed me so we are in the process of working this out. So put a hold on the panic for right now.

Mike, I e-mailed you regarding refunding my deposit. I'm sorry to the other members but based on the combined threads I have read in this forum I have no faith that I will get the lights, switch, and harness in a reasonable amount of time.

Like I said communciation is key. We should have been notified when a vendor loses his vendor status. I simply don't like the level of communication that is going on. Leaving people in the dark til the last minute is not cool.

A summary of the other ---motorworks GB's: the switches, lights, parts needed to make the switch are delayed, customs lost them, etc. I feel no need to pay the balance IF this is what I have to look forward to after the GB is closed. See all the other STi light threads if you're confused.

Mike,

(1) It is up to you to honestly evaluate this GB, and tell us right now how many people you will need to make a satisfactory profit, and then we can determine if we have enough people remaining to make this GB work.

If, after thinking things over, you determine that you can't make enough of a profit with only 5-10 members (because realistically I think that is what it is going to come down to), then the thing to do is end the GB now and return everyone's deposit. Do not try to force this GB to happen.

(2) The GB has to close now. There's no longer any point to waiting until April 15. If someone was thinking about jumping on board before today, there is no way in hell they would plunk down $900 on blind faith now after reading this thread.

Right now, you have as many people as you are going to have. If you wait until April 15, more of the people that have already paid you are going to get more nervous and want out.

(3) If anybody that has already paid wants out, you are going to have to let them out. If you try to force anyone to stay in, no one will trust you and this whole thing will fall apart.

(4) As a showing of good faith, you should provide us with your full name, and the make, model and license number of the car that you drive, so that if this whole thing goes south, we'll at least have a head start on where to find you. You have the full names and addresses of at least 17 people that have given you $400-900, so I don't think that is too much to ask.

(5) Explain to us how you are going to get the lights to us within three weeks of the close of the GB, when Gary at WRXMotorworks' GB closed in January and he still hasn't gotten everyone their headlights. Because even if you wind up going through with this GB, 22 days after this GB closes, you are going to have people constantly on your a$$ asking where their lights are.

If you can satisfy these conditions, and you close the GB ASAP, and there are enough people remaining to make this worth your while, then I am still in. Otherwise, mail me back my payment.

If there is any doubt in your mind that you can complete this GB and get us all our lights within 4 weeks, then don't do it. Just end it now and return all of our payments. In the long run, you will save yourself headaches and potential lawsuits. Just ask SXPi.

Let us know how you intend to proceed.

I'll get to the point 1st:
When will this Paypal issue be resolved? If Paypal is a problem, just send me a money order minus the cost of postage and the MO. I'll take a loss of a few dollars to be done with this. Mike, I trust you are an honest person which is why I sent you the money in the 1st place. If 5 more people are itching to take my #6 spot then let them. I would simply like my $425 dollars back. Please.

Moving on... I highly applaud SC WRX's comments.

So I'll try to be as civil as possible. Yes I am fully aware of your No Refund 'policy'. However, I don't feel that is exactly valid if the terms of the GB keep changing. I'm referring to the changing deadlines, price drop confusion, being bumped up in priority for paying the balance confusion, and just lack of communication with your customers.

You should just be up front and post the current status on the public forum for all to see instead of requesting that the interested parties PM you for details. This probably wouldn't have raised alarm bells if people were kept up to speed.

And Mike, best of luck completing this group buy. I sincerely hope it goes well and that all of you get your items. I really do hope you all prove me wrong.

Thanks,
Tuan

Guys I don’t think I made my self clear this GB is going to happen its people’s comments that make others nervous.

Like I have said couple of times today don’t worry I will keep everyone posted every day. and let you guys know what is going on.

I don’t think anybody needs make, model and license number of the car that I drive .

I understand that couple of people are pissed but what can I do I have done all I can to make everyone happy I first started with 975.00 shipped people said its too much so I lowered it they said they want to make a deposit instead of full payment so I did that just to keep everyone happy so I even kept the price low till it closed WITCH THE CLOSE DATE IS 4/15/03.

Guys once again do not dispute the charges or complain with paypal because that will result in a bigger mess lets just think positive like most people are and we will have this straightened out couple of days.

Thanks Mike

Once again. The point.

ALL I GOT TO SAY IS EVERYTHING IS GOING GREAT IF PEOPLE ARE GOING TO CANCEL NOW EVEN THOUGH ON THE FIRST PAGE IT SAYS NO CANCELLATION OR REFUNDS THAT’S NOT A PROBLEM I HAVE ABOUT 5 PEOPLE READY TO JUMP ON THE LIST AS SOON AS MY PAYPAL IS AVAILABLE. - So what's teh problem? Refund my deposit.

Then you proceed to tell me NOT to dispute teh charges. Why?

I assure you, I am OUT of this GB. I'm not going to mince words and allow you to buy more time or take more of my money. I work hard for that cash. We can do this teh easy way. Send me a registered money order via Western Union or some otehr confirmation service. And I will shut teh hell up. Or we can involve banks and god forbid, lawyers, authorities.

I'm sorry but I think this GB should close no later than Friday April 4th. You have until Friday or when teh buyer complaint process is done with my CC company. Which should take a few days to complete.

I'm also sorry that I have generated bad press for this GB, but in my defense I am protecting my interests.

Trust me anyone who's willing to pony up 900 bucks for tehse lights would have done so by now. And those on teh fence after reading all tehse posts are not going to join in.

Mike, I admire your concessions you have made regarding teh lowering of teh pricing and such, but none of this info was explicitly communicated in this thread. If you read back furtehr you'll see a few requests for status updates, 'reply to my' e-mail posts, and a few questions that are just plain unanswered. It leaves a bad impression to say teh least.

Your words:
Trust me tehir will be enough people just look at teh otehr GB if tehy dont of corse i will refund teh diposit

And again:
Guys like I said if not enough people sign up and teh Gb dose not go trough I WILL REFUND THE DEPOSIT

In my honest opinion I and a few otehrs have waited long enough. It's been a full month. That is plenty of time to get a GB going. And to add insult to injury we will have to wait a furtehr 3 weeks (or more) + teh time needed to get all balances due, to get our lights. So for me, definitely this GB has not "gone through".

I want tehse lights badly, but not badly enough to put up with this mess and teh mess WRXmotorworks is putting customers through.

Do teh honest thing.

I will be perfectly honest about what I am up to (for those following this silly drama). So their are no accusations later on.

I am not wavering. I will have my deposit back one way or another.

I am also trying to source these lights from a private seller: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=338336

And I have put myself on CC-B's interested buyer's list for the EDM lights he hopes to recieve. This is what he told me:
Sorry, currently no more stock. It's hard to keep sufficient qty. on hand. 15 sets are on teh way in and should be here around teh 15th or 20th. We can backorder a set for you if you want. Just e-mail (not PM)us your name, address and phone number to info@cc-b.com and we'll put you on teh list. No deposit is required and tehir is no obligation to buy. We'll just go down teh list as tehy come in, and you can make a decision at that point in time.

The headlight leveling switch is in stock and is $69.00. The harness is $45.00. (Just in case you wanted to know)

And yes, they are brand new, straight from Subaru Europe

Why is the number 25 so freakin magical? Gary (WRXmotorworks) closed his GB at 16 people. I'm sure refunding one disgruntled customer to shut him up wouldn't seriously affect your bottom line. You mean to tell me you can't do a GB with *gasp* 24 people?

I better recieve a reply to this. Clock's tickin.

Sigh. Since this is teh only semblance of good news and you did regain your vendor status with Nick. I will not take any action until teh end of this Friday.

Please clarify teh Paypal situation with us and I may extend that deadline.

Namely.
1. Can you access your account?
2. Is your account currently locked by Paypal due to investigation? (this sometimes happens and makes it very difficult for people to obtain tehr money)

A few members have paid you with money orders. So regardless, unless you spent that money already. You have teh funds to repay me.

Thanks.

EDIT:
Protection Policies - Seller Protection Policy

Q: Why am I charged a $10 fee for chargeback settlement?

A: To cover the cost of processing chargebacks, PayPal assesses a $10 fee to sellers who are determined to be at fault for credit card payment chargebacks. The $10 fee will be waived in those cases where the sellers have fulfilled all of the requirements of PayPal's Seller Protection Policy. The $10 fee will also be waived for all sellers participating in our PayPal Preferred program.

I will gladly pay you the 10 bucks if the chargeback on my CC occurs. If this is the source of concern.

If you want to deflect the blame go right ahead.

I was told before all this started to go with a reputable Canadian vendor for the lights. Except, Canada being the great taxable nation that we are, was hella expensive.

So I decided to trust a new un-proven vendor. If you had conducted this group buy in a professional manner from the beginning. I would not have panicked and worried about potentially losing $425 US = $627 in Canadian pesos. Yes, I'm not kidding.

I've learned from others to take a harsh stance on anything resembling fraud.

I use Paypal out of convenience and with a CC I have a little more piece of mind than MO's. But...

Mike, as for Paypal giving you a hard time. This is the kind of thing that frightens me: http://www.paypalsucks.com/faqs.shtml

That site is not BS. And is full of valid complaints. So you can see why I'm a little scared of never seeing my cash again.

Dude, shut UP!

YOU are the one at fault here, not any of the buyers.

YOU are the one who took people's money and let your vendor status lapse.

YOU are the one who posted people's real last names (MAJOR NO NO!!!! ) and did not post your own!

YOU are the one who has the power to send refunds to buyers (via any means necessary, even if that means CASH).

YOU are the one who is responsible for providing product... and if you don't have that product at the right time, you MUST inform people what is happening and offer refunds if they want them.

YOU are the one who decided that Paypal is fine as a payment method.

YOU are the one who instilled bad faith in people and delayed the GB, not WRX-78. If anything, the other buyers on the list should be thanking the guy for standing up for their rights and making sure that the fear of God (or the law) is making this person continue the deal.

-Bob

Nick, I think that is a good rule... if a vendor cannot fill a GB by a specified date, a buyer should be able to be free to drop out with refund

A few people are interested in this process so that's why I'm posting:

Mike, I contacted my CC company and since I gave them your contact info. They said they've been trying to get in touch with you.

I inquired more about the dispute process and basically they said that they are acting on my behalf. The temporary credit that shows up on my CC account will be made permanent when the dispute is resolved.

I asked him how long and he said it could take up to a month and will show on my next statement.

So basically, whenever my Paypal account lists a balance of $425 dollars I will call the CC and tell them to cancel the dispute.

I know you said that the money has been refunded, but I just checked and it still says $0. I will NOT be dealing with Paypal customer service on this issue. That is up to you. Thanks.

Wraith

I don't know if he could do a tracking number first because it would have to be shipped already. Would you ship something you sold before you got all the money?

I'm still trying to give Mike the benefit of the doubt and ride this through too, but once the GB closes we should be given some type of proof along the way of the shipment coming to the states. Like for instance it was cool how one vendor took pictures of the shipment when it came in. Copy of an invoice, copy of email from the dealer in europe, tracking number of the shipment, you know anything along those lines. stuff like that definitely helps. Keep in mind too guys that with the war going on customs will take longer, so its not going to be quick

Mike, I saw that you logged on again, so I know that you saw these posts. You probably also received my voice mails on your cell phone.

How do you expect to run a business if you never return voice mails, fail to respond to posts that call into question your integrity. Surely you must realize that your reputation as an NASIOC vendor is only going to get worse if you don't answer to people like me and SLK WRX.

Unless you straighten out your act quick, this will be the only group buy that you ever run, because nobody is going to trust you.

Personally, I'm surprised anyone is still in this group buy. It's not like you've demonstrated any game plan to anyone as to how you think you can get everyone EDM lights and leveller switches within 3 weeks when Gary your mentor still hasn't been able to fill his leveller switch orders.

SC WRX
04-10-2003, 01:30 AM
And you'd better not be financing the purchase of the EDM lights with my money and SLK WRX's money. That could be considered a Ponzi scheme, and could subject you to significant federal penalties, especially in light of the fact that you are engaging in interstate commerce by use of the internet.

SC WRX

Logan

Uh, Mike? You there man? SLKWRX and SC WRX have been trying to get hold of you since forever!

Honestly, WHAT is going on that you can't reply to these guys?

I've had a lot of patience so far but c'mon! If you can't respond to these guys now, what more if I had a problem with my lights (from shipping or something like that) and needed to replace them? I'd never get hold of you.

You seriously need to communicate way better (I.E. ANSWER EACH AND EVERY QUESTION ANYONE MIGHT HAVE!). If you can't do that, we might as well forgat the whole thing and you refund us all our money back.

Don't you realize how frustrating this is?

- Logan

ImprezaBoy75

I agree with Logan on that. Communication is the key here! This makes me feel very uncomfortable when there is no good communication going on. You should answer to SC WRX and spend a couple of minutes just to write something short, we don't expect you to write a book.

You need to start taking this seriously Mike before we all start leaving this group buy wanting a full refund back even though this is a great price for the EDM STi lights, leveling switch, harness, and shipping. But we have tons of money here involved, so please get in the act of being more serious in this group buy please.

Refund SLKWrx and SC WRX their money and while you're at it get a spellchecker and try not to SHOUT so much. You're not doing the Subaru community any good by staying quiet. It just leads people to speculate on what you've done with the cash. Like spending it on your own car perhaps?

Mike we've all pleaded with you before on this (lack of) communication issue. Stop being such a child about it and show some professionalism. Like the other guys said your reputation is at an all-time low and you haven't even ordered the lights yet! I'd be more sympathetic since this is your first time doing a group buy and have paypal troubles, but guess what?

You're trying to run a business, correct? You should have realized **it is bound to happen and had the money (not stuck in paypal limbo) to refund dissatisfied customers. Now honestly what newbie goes and upgrades a personal paypal account to a business account mid-GB? Knowing full well that he'd be handling roughly $875 * 25 = $21875 in deposits. You should've realized a personal account can't accept that much in transactions.

I also doubt everyone used paypal so you do have the money kicking around somewhere unless you spent it already. It is NOT our duty to finance your business when (it looks like) you have no capital.

I'm sick of these fly-by-nite companies with ONE employee in an apartment. Also, hiding behind a "no refund" policy, as you've quickly found out, is pure BS. Just remember, no goods = fraud. Which is where this GB is headed.

I got a PM from Mike. Props to him for working with me to reclaim my deposit. Hopefully this will all be sorted out shortly.

I take back what I said. For the record Mike and Paypal have yet to contact me after my initial complaint. I still have not recieved my refund via paypal. Now how's that for service!

But my CC company said they will most likely be giving me a full refund. I feel sorry for the guys who aren't able to pursue a chargeback.

Lucky no one here took you up on your offers:

EDIT:
I had i-club links here but they don't work. Just go to the search page and enter xpressmotorwork and you'll see what I mean.

Your reputation preceeds you perhaps? Aw who am I kidding, like you even bother to respond anymore.

I'm not knocking on the rest of you guys but it's your money at stake here. Don't be afraid to speak up to get results. It's painfully obvious no one else has joined up (or will) before the 15th. If you still want your lights tell Mike to close the GB and get things in motion. Also, DEMAND proof that he ordered the lights or you might get burned later.

Good luck.

You said it yourself, that you would be willing to refund those that no longer trusted you. That is the only reason why you didn't have a complete mutiny, because others thought you were still being reasonable.

So, be reasonable, take care of those that want out, and earn yourself some goodwill with those that still want in. Some people have short memories, and if you take care of those of us that are unhappy now, you COMMUNICATE with those that are still in, and you complete this GB as planned, you still have a chance to salvage your reputation. (I imagine the 15 guys with EDM headlights 4 weeks from now will have forgotten all of this once the product is in their hands.)

If you do the right thing, you might be able to do additional group buys later. If you don't, then this will probably be your last GB. Think long term.

If you haven't returned my money yet, tell me when you will and the reason for the delay. You'll find that I can be reasonable as long as the person I'm dealing with is honest with me.

Ok, Mike, due to what has happened, I think you'll have to refund whomever wants out as when you made the first post, you didn't know THIS was going to happen, or did you?

Please, refund the members requesting them and take new members as needed. If I was in your shoes, I would do it and keep hapy members instead of pissy ones, but of course I'm not in your shoes!

Your integrity is at play here. Do what's right!!!

To the people in this GB, please keep you cool, we'll work this out!!!

Dave, I know you are upset. but please try not to dodge the swear filter! I have your back!:)

SO FOR ME TO GIVE ANYONE A REFUND IM DOING YOU GUYS A FAVOR

You're NOT doing us a favor you're obeying the law. From the California Law site http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/95-96/bill/asm/ab_3301-3350/ab_3320_bill_960328_amended_asm.html

I don't expect anyone to digest all that wordy garbage but I did find this section interesting:

(3) Sending the buyer a letter or other written notice (A) advising the buyer of the duration of an expected delay expressed as a specific number of days or weeks, or proposing the substitution of goods or services of equivalent or superior quality, and (B) offering to make a full refund, in accordance with paragraph (2), within one week if the buyer so requests. The vendor shall provide to the buyer a toll-free telephone number or other cost-free method to communicate the buyer's request for a full refund. If the vendor proposes to substitute goods or services, the vendor shall describe the substitute goods or services in detail, indicating fully how the substitute differs from the goods or services ordered.

And I'll be the 1st to admit Internet Law is a fuzzy thing at best but...

Mike you would have been within the law if you had NOT done the following:

1. Modified the terms of the initial contract without consent of all parties involved. (e.g. changed prices, due dates, order of individuals receiving lights due to deposit amounts)

2. In at least 4 posts you basically said you would refund people's money. Thus pretty much nullifying the "contract". Not to mention outright lying to SC WRX.

3. Posting our real names without consent also violates privacy laws.

To Leonardo: I respect your intelligent post. "Technically" it's not Mike's fault cause he did cover his butt with the blanket "No refunds once payment is sent." However, we as consumers also have our rights. I'm just exercising mine and keeping a level head pointing out inaccuracies. If Mike purports to be a verified business then he is expected to act accordingly. A one sentence "NO REFUNDS" is not a real policy in my books. Need I remind you we as the participants in this GB also had no idea Mike was going to let his vendor status lapse and not communicate very often.

stung by the old adage "buyer beware"

EDIT:
If we didn't act as soon as we did this could have easily turned into a fraud case with 25 poor souls. Think of it as a learning lesson for future GBs.

Ok, I have to chime in here. Listen, I know you are having issues but you really only have three (I think) people that want out. Let us out and go on with your business instead of getting all this bad press for yourself.

And also mike, remember, I did help you get this group buy started. You had only no one until me and a few others started talking louder about it. The least you can do is grant us what we want, you still have plenty of people to make the group buy go on.. 3 people is not going to kill you.

For the record, we have had patience Mike. We have had plenty of patience.. I don't know about the others, but my patience is running very thin. Even if you did say No Refunds on the first page, you said that you would grant them. Now I don't care if you have to send Paypal, money order, check or cash even, get our refunds out and get on with life.

Thnaks very much, please get on this quickly so that we can all aprt as friends. There is no reason for us to distrust you, and maybe after you clean up your act a bit and figure out how to be a better vender, we might actually do business in the future.

Oh, and Take me off your list for the THIRD time. I am number two on your list and I no longer want to inflate your numbers for your own benefit. You have not helped me, therefore I would not like to help you.

Thank you very much,
-- Steve

Just curious.

Has anyone who requested a refund recieved it yet? There are at least three people who were on the list whose names were removed, and I assumed they are in the process of having their money refunded. But SC WRX hasn't even seen the refund though it was supposedly sent out a week ago...

Mike,

Like SLKWrx, I have asked you to remove my name from this group buy too many times to count - through every channel available - PM, e-mail, phone calls. As soon as I finish this, I'll be calling my credit card company and filing a merchant dispute.

You've given me no indications that you'll return my money in a timely manner (or even read this message). Your recent posts are vague at best - no concrete details. All I keep hearing is "No updates," "please be patient," and "I will take care of you." Lots of promises, but no action.

Why is it so difficult to refund us? You've mentioned on multiple occasions your willingness to do so.
Your Paypal account is active so it should be a simple matter of logging in and sending us our money back. And Paypal doesn't even charge you any transaction fees for sending money.
It's just as easy for those that paid with m.o./cashier's checks. Go to your local post office, buy some money orders, then mail them back to those who request them.
There's really only one reason why you wouldn't be able to send us refunds, and I don't even want to consider that you've done that.

And for those still willing to stick it out, it's long past time you ended the group buy for them. With all that's been going on here over the past two weeks, do you really think any one else is going to join now?

Please do the right thing and address all the participants of this group buy honestly.

Felix
