Paul Ecklund is one helluva guy to deal with. He was more than willing to work with me to get me a brake upgrade in time for a track day, and still be patient enough with me after financial dificulties arrose with paying him (damn work paycheck bounced at the wrong time....is there ever a good time?)

Yup, thumb's up for Paul.
I'm happy with the front and rear skidplates, and Paul was upfront about the issue where the exhaust header may bang against the front plate. He answered questions, and let me know when responses would be delayed due his racing schedule.
I'd definitely buy from him again.

Again, I have had excellent dealings with Paul/Primitive Racing.

I've got the front legacy skidplate and also had a set of the axxis/repco brake pads.

Paul answered my emails within a day or less each time and gave me some great tips on the brake work.

Whenever I find a good job and have some more money to throw at the car, I know one place that I will definatly be shopping at.

The front plate does buzz against the headers a little during rough shifts, but it just gives me more feedback. I could fix it if I had bothered to use the spacers he suggested, but it isn't a big deal for me.

Paul is top notch. After turbocharging my car back in 1999, the stock clutch quickly went bad. Back in 1999 there wasn't too much available aftermarket wise for the Impreza. Paul offered the 4 puck clutch via Primitive. I asked him a bunch of questions, and he was refreshingly honest. "I don't know if it will hold the power, but I've had the same one on my rally car for three years (or whatever) and it's never given me any problems." He shipped it out to me priority because I needed it before going to a track event. ;)

I e-mailed Mr. Eklund about it and he shipped a replacement even before receiving the damaged one. No hassle, no fingerpointing, no lame excuses just excellent customer service. I've heard many times of how good a vendor Paul at Primitive was, and finaally got a chance to experience it first hand. I placed an order with Primitive this past Monday (1/13). All my inquiries were handled quickly by e-mail, I paid via PayPal and my product arrived as promised on Friday (1/17).

Great service, great product. I am very pleased with my entire order process with Primitive and will not hesitate to order from them again.

I'll throw in a word or two. I ordered some 22b vents from Paul a while back. Not only did he have the best price around, but his customer service was excellent. Somehow the package was lost in the mail, or perhaps stolen off of my porch the day that they arrived (halloween)..? Anyways, Paul sent a replacement set of vents right away without any trouble. I ordered an STi scoop from him... my mistake, I missed that he had replicas instead of genuine at his advertised price. So, instead of having to send a refund and ordering elsewhere, Paul located and sent me a genuine STi scoop at that price.

I ordered a set of rear Axxis Delux pads and asked Paul if I can get them hurried to my door. Although his preferred method of payment is by mailing a check or MO, he sent me my rear pads right the same day he got the check. I sent in the check last wednesday, and I got the pads this wednesday. I personally think that's great that a vendor will go out of thier way to help a customer who's only getting something worth $50. He also responds to my emails within the hour. He has my future business.

I bought a rebuilt shortblock from Paul. It has been turbocharged, and has been running well for almost a year now.

I bought some 22B replica hood vent that I was not very impressed with. I sent them back and he sent me a better set. Honestly was not very happy with that set either, but the price was good. You can't expect alot from Fiberglass molds.

Service and speed is good to. I think my short block shipped in like a day, the vents in 2.

Bought skid plates from Paul. Took a little to get them, he was kinda in the middle of the Alcan, but still responded to my email and everything.

Definitely will buy from him again. And the skid plates WILL hold up extremely well, just ask the rock I clobbered.

Best Vendor I have ever dealt with.

Bought a clutch that wasn't strong enough for my turbo monster. Gave me a good deal on another at less than cost. If the first Pressure plate was defective he'll refund me some $$ for that.

Bought fog light covers, happy with them, haven't used them yet, but I like 'em.

Same here. I brought my Version 5 in to be painted and they said it took almost nothing to finish. His products are very good quality and they won't break they bank. Paul is the man and I suggest Primitive Racing to everybody. I've dealt with him 3 times in the past and I will most definitely do business again with him in the near future. :)

I just want to say thanks to Paul @ Primitive. I ordered a hood from them (at a very reasonable price, I might add) some time ago that was slightly damaged in shipping. I was not expecting to get anything out of FedEx over it, but thanks to Paul's persistence with FedEx, they're at least coughing up $70 to patch the cracked corners on the hood.

Despite this shipping mishap, I'd certainly do business @ Primitive again.

Just wanted to say what a great experience I had with Paul. I have an aftermarket header, and of course the stock plastic guard no longer fit properly. After some searching, found Paul. He worked with me, to find the proper measurements, and he was able to build out a plate to fit my STI. It looks great, fits great, was shipped fast and he responded quickly to all of my questions. He did this while being very busy with a rally.

I'd recommend him anytime, and will order from him again.

Their skidplate just saved my car.

The skidplate itself is almost toast, but I am sure I can bang it back into shape. But it saved the headers and the oil pan from getting sheared off.
