Tats. munkis 02-14-2003, 09:58 PM it has its own sensor? or do they want you to tap into the existing sensor? if it has its own sensor, I would drill and tap the thermostat housing and Install it in there...it is plastic though, so not sure if it would leak. Jay Tats 02-15-2003, 06:09 AM Jay...it has its own sensor. I guess I could do that...I'd prefer to find some kind of TEE where I could tee it off some kind of hose though. Anyone else?? Tats. drtaka 02-19-2003, 02:28 PM get greddy/trust adaptor (blue color) you have to cut radiator horse to fit this adaptor. thats how they do it in Japan AJ711 02-19-2003, 03:28 PM Note: 2.5RS Specific I picked up a 1.5" inline radiator hose adaptor with a 1/8NPT threaded hole to it from Steiger Performance (http://www.steigerperformance.com/). Click on the "Products" section on the left and go to the "Late Model Mopar Trucks" section and then scroll down to the "Inline radiator hose temperature sensor adapter" section, you can order it there. It's only $19.95 as compared to the $30 some odd for the GReddy "oohhh it's Blue" one. Not that I'm harping on the GReddy one, but if it's the same size and does the same thing and is cheaper, then I'm going with the cheaper one. As for fitment and the like, I haven't installed my gauges yet, I'm waiting on a control box for my gauges to make installing them easier. With the aid of relays and the like, I'll be able to run less lines for +12v, switched +12v, ground and illumination to the gauges. It'll make me happier, so it's worth the wait. As for the inline adapter, it comes with everything you'll need. It has the clamps for the hose ends, and 2 wire fasteners to ground the sending unit. I found instructions for the install HERE (http://www.geocities.com/matsut_rpi00/) which is how I know the ID of the hose is 1.5", so the OD of the pipe should be 1.5" as well. It's in the "Modifications" section of his site. I believe he sent this information to Scooby Mods.com (http://www.scoobymods.com/) as well. Hope this helps. AJ aov 02-20-2003, 01:48 AM midnx03 - thanks for posting that. I tried a Greddy one I found locally and it didn't fit. I wasn't sure if the diameter was correct either so I returned it. I did mount the sender in the return line from the turbo, but would rather have it in the radiator hose. Thanks again, -anders AJ711 02-20-2003, 12:45 PM Yes, I forgot to mention that my stuff is at the least, 2.5RS specific. I'm not sure what size hoze the WRX uses for the coolant, but can only assume it's the same. I believe RiftsWRX has done the temp sender to the turbo mod, found HERE (http://www.projectwrx.com/), but I have little knowledge about that side of the issue. Glad my research on things has helped someone other than myself. :D AJ aov 02-20-2003, 07:49 PM  I should have checked that first... I ordered one anyways. Hope it fits :D -anders |
