View Full Version : The Green Harness under the dash?

I just finished the rewire for the foglights. Another easy mod thanks to scoobymods. Anyway, my question is while I was under the dash I noticed a green wire harness under there. There are only like 2 wires going to it. The reason I'm bringing this up is because the harness was unpluged? Does anyone know what this particular harness does? My car has been running fine and I don't have any problems with it so I left it unplugged. Any help would be great.

Thanks.

It's used for dealer/factory test only and is supposed to be unplugged.

thanks,

I thought it might have something to do with service diognostics but, I wanted to make sure. I hade things that are supposed to be left unplugged. On my Dakota there is a service port and plug under the hood that is supposed to be left unplugged. Even though the plug fits in the harness your only supposed to do that when the computer plugs in line with in the harness. It throws a CEL. Sorry for the rambling and thanks for the info. I'll get back to the garage now.

With the green plugs connected and the ignition on (engine off), various solenoids and relays are cycled by the ECM. A visible sign is the radiators fans coming on and off, I tried that.
