Maybe this has been posted before, but...

I had a WRX shift lever sitting around, and thought I'd replace it for the stock one in my '03 Forester, as it is shorter. Unfortunately, the width where the bolt goes through the bushings is too wide. I'll have a friend grind it down Monday, and report back.

Unless anyone else has tried this, and wants to say "Don't bother". ;)

Try a 98-01 RS shift lever.

I don't have one sitting in my garage. :p I'll modify this one and give it a try.
