Thanks, Dan STi_22B 04-24-2001, 12:00 PM OUCH!! well take it to a paint shop they can touch it up for about $20...i had a key scretch a while ago. i took down to a paint shop they touched it up for $25..looks just like normal.... Imprezed_Driver 04-24-2001, 04:35 PM Try a small amount of rubbing compound, then use some McGuires cleaner wax... I had a small spot like that behind the S. This method worked for me. eastbaysubaru 04-25-2001, 02:44 PM What do you mean by fogged? I was thinking about debadging my girlfriend's RS and was worried about the paint. I'm just worried about stuff exactly like this. -Brian mack109 04-25-2001, 04:20 PM Was the fogging from the heat or the solvent used to clean up? Use the minimum amount of heat from a heat gun or hair dryer necessary to soften the adhesive, then pass very fine dental floss behind the badge/letters and they come off easily. I thought that clean up with WD40 sounded pretty weird, but it doesn't affect the paint and the goo eventually comes off with a bit of rubbing. Finish up with car wax/polish. Looks like those letters were never there. If your paint is just fogged it should buff out. newrxnj 04-25-2001, 06:34 PM It was from too much rubbing... The first S took a little to get the hang of it. The rest was easy. After rubbing with GooGone to get rid of the little bits, I noticed some fogging. Again, only a tiny bit. I just wanted good advice before I tried to fix it. Subie Gal 04-25-2001, 06:41 PM detail clay and detail spray.... if you havent tried it.. do it... you can find some here: http://www.griotsgarage.com that's the clay and spray i recommend and use on my RS... what it does is remove all solvents, dirt etc from the paint... even yellow paint over spray... hehehehe... not that i'd know... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif j. www.subiegal.com (http://www.subiegal.com) markoe78 04-25-2001, 07:52 PM just get a good wax and hand rub it out i use to work at a recon shop that should work realy good the fogy spot is from puting hair line scraches in the clear cote you should be fine see ya |
