Then I used the sealer, and finaly, the paste wax.

Too right, that little lump clay really works a charm. Got mine from Griot's, but I imagine is the same. Car becomes absolutely frictionless.

Isn't it great when a product works like you expect? I think I'm only going to do the claybar one more time in the late summer. Those things are kinda pricey!

I am a big fan of Mother's stuff. I just waxed my WRX for the second time yesterday with the Cleaner wax. I think I'll do the 3 step once every 6 months.

So what does the clay bar do exactly? And can i use the claybar on my car then take it to a detailing shop to do a wax job if i'm too lazy to do it myself? Or does the clay bar treatment go together with a specific wax brand?

well the clay bar basically remove all the residues that is on the car.
well you have to wash and dry the car fist then use the clay bar with the solution they provide. then just rub back and forth. wipe of the liquid and move on to another section... after you are done with your car just feel your cars paint job. it will feel like new...nice and smooth...
feel the paint job before you use the clay bar then feel it after...there is your difference..you will definately feel it...

Don't forget that you can also HEAR the difference....while rubbing a heavily soiled area you can hear the bar "picking up". The most impressive part is that it even rubs out those hard tar stains. The car is smooooooooooooooth! I took pics right after I was done, I'll post em when I get a chance.

I've heard good stuff about that stuff, will it help to remove swirl marks? (I bought a black car which never looks clean except for about 3 minutes after I wash it!)

I've never used a clay bar before. If you pass it over an area with a stone chip or two, will the bar lift the paint thereby making the stone chip even bigger?

How much pressure should one apply when using a clay bar product?

I don't think you can really see the effect of the claybar in an e-pic. But boy, you can sure feel it and see it in person. Griot's clay and Best of Show wax (applied and removed with a Bosch random orbit sander) result in a swirl-less expanse of glassy WR Blue!

Clay bars remove deposits ON or above the finish, like minerals left from water spots, etc. Stuff sticks to the clay when you slide the bar over, and gets pulled loose.
Paint cleaners remove marks/scratches IN the finish. (Light scratches, swirls.) The cleaner is abrasive and removes the top layer of clearcoat to smooth things out.
Clay bars can also do wonders on windshields and mirrors.
