Suns out, my car is in (picking it up Monday) and I have a load of car care products looking at me with longing in their eyes *shakes head* ugh sorry overly dramatic there .
Anyways I did a search but couldn't find anything on what you guys use to apply the wax to your cars. Should I go with the wax applicator pads (which side foam or terry?) they have in stores, or use a 100%cotton tcloth towel?

Good question. I usually use a cotton terrycloth pad but I'm thinking of switching to a foam pad from Griots. A foam pad will not absorb the wax like cloth will but keep it on the surface which translates into using less wax.
I'm open to suggestions myself though.
The foam pads from Griots are great. Give one a try

All,
The BEST applicator is your hand. I use Zymol and the hand is what they recommend. Been doing it for 12 years with great results.

Thanks guys, I think I'll try them all and see what works for me. I like that hand idea http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif I'll try that first.

Wow, hand application?
I guess it makes sense if you're being real economical about it, but wouldn't the oils/grit from your hand hurt the paint finish?

use foam applicator..it;s the safest..terry cloth is also safe although they tend to be more abrasive than the foam applciator and they (terry applictor) is more suitable for polishing than waxing
the hand idea is also safe..but IMO you will end up over using ouy wax and over coating your paint surface..
because you only need a very thin layer of wax..if you put too much you will wipe too much excess
it's better to put a couple thin layer of wax than one thick layer..

You can actually feel the wax work into the surface better when you use your fingertips.
Give it a try but remember not to where a ring!http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
Or, try a clean piece of flannel cloth folded into a pad for application.
I shy away from foam because they can scratch.
Go to www.carcareonline.com (http://www.carcareonline.com) for some other good pointers.

You just rub it on with your hand!?!

More specifically, the fingertips. Zymol has such a high percentage of carnuba that they recommend the hand to help melt it enough to put a very light coat and you only do about a 24 inch by 24 inch square at a time; not allowing to dry.
