Okay, so I got one of those lightbars that bolt on to the front of the car, but now I need some ideas on the lights.

I'm planning on getting Hella Rallye 4000s even though I can get Hella 500s for about $80.

Now, my dad is leery about mounting them in front of the grill, but I think that's where they'll look the best. Is there any negative things with putting lights in front of the grill? I imagine there isn't since the main radiator intake is the lower opening.

Also, what about wiring? I want to wire them with waterproof disconnects of some sort so I can remove them whenever I want. I want to have them wired to one swtich (an airplane style switch from Ignited) and then a couple little LEDs or something next to it to show that they're on (i.e. if they get disconnected or something the LEDs won't light). Any thoughts on how to do this?

As for the wiring, it doesn't sound that hard. But, I don't know much about wiring. Trial and error, thats how you learn. My lights came with a switch, but since it is hidden, I sometimes blind people during the day because I don't notice they are on.

The radiator does not seem to be much of a problem. I have some lights mounted in my grille and I haven't had any problems. There are plenty of people with lightbars, so I am sure you will be fine.

an indicator to show when the circuit is energized is easy.. you essentially wire it in parallel with the light filament.

an indicator to show that the light is ON is a bit more involved... probably more than it's worth.

quick disconnects you probably want to get something like a molex connector at radioshack. they make them in lots of varieties depending on how many wire connections you'll need.
