Just wanted to post a little note as to how pleased I am with this vendor. One of the best in my opinion, top quality products, good prices, and impecable customer service. Good communication and the whole sales from order to delivery was as promised. Dan really bends over backwards for his customers, to get them the best deals possible and to provide you with only the highest quality products. I think that people are quick to post their dislikes and gripes about vendors but no one seems to take the time to say when they got good service. Sure i expect these things, but as we all know the sales and stuff don't always go like we want so when someone does live up to their promises it is nice to let people know this way we can avoid bad vendors and know who will not screw us. I don't know why there is no place to review products, vendors, racetracks, events and stuff(moderators hint hint) cause I think that would help us all out in the avoiding bad sales experiences. Point of fact, ordered a set of 52mm guages and OEM housing, had it on my doorstep in 5 days. Then to top it off Dan calls me to make sure i got them. This was more than enough for me but after a few weeks had gone by my phone rings and it is Dan making sure I am happy with my purchase and that all is working ok. I haven't worked with many other vendors who would do this so that is a big plus in my book. Someone who actually cares about the people he sells stuff too, not just the money. Anyway, just my opionion so if you have anything to add please do. :D

I would like to see a vendor rating or comment section as well. I posted my good dealings with a fellow member through private vendors section. They may be worried about flame wars erupting etc. Your information helped me so thanks!

That's a definite nice change of pace, Sky. Seeing something positive from a customer is a breath of fresh air. Thanks for taking the time to inform us of your good dealings.

Tex is also right, IMO. A rating section for vendors is a fantastic idea that I think would benefit all of us Suby consumers.

I agree with Sky, Dan is a great guy, and a joy to have worked with. I ordered a 22b spoiler for my wifes daily driver and when FedEx ground shipped it, i'm sure a few of their dc10's ran over the box( just kidding guys) and put a few cracks in her spoiler.
Well i just e-mailed Dan to give him a heads up about the condition it arrived in, and this guy just bends over backwards to make sure i'm overly happy with my purchase, tells me he is filing a claim, and then to top it off calls me in a few days at work and tells me he is just checking to see how things are going:cool:

Now this !!!!! is customer service, and today he e mails just to see if i'm keeping the spoiler( of course i am !! ) . well it goes to the body shop on Weds. and i'll just ask them to note what was spoiler related, and what was normal install, prep, paint etc.

WE NEED MORE DANS !!!!

Well, while I'm here, I'll put in my $0.02.

Yes, Dan was a pleasure to work with. All my stuff came in on time, and everything was just fine.

I'm in sales myself, and I must say that the key to keeping happy customers is FOLLOW UP. I was very pleased to get my follow up call from Dan...so i'll have to order some more stuff when i get a couple bills saved.

thanks for your services dan!

I agree completely. Dan was easy to work with and did exactly what he said he would do. My exhaust showed up when he said (12 days) and was everything he promised. He actively updates his web site, which seems to be a problem for some vendors. And he follows up. I am in sales as well and I can tell you that besides personality, follow up is key to success. The customer has to know that you are as interested in their satisfaction as they are.
Regarding a vendor satisfaction forum I think that is a great idea. It would have saved me some time wasted on fly by night vendors who are jumping on the WRX bandwagon.

I purchased a MRT exhaust system from Dan at Vivid Racing and have to say it was my best experience yet in the 10 years I have been buying aftermarket performance parts. It was easy to get a hold of Dan by cell, landline or e mail. He responded quickly. He quoted a price and stayyed with it even though his cost went up due to exchange rate and shipping differences. He overnighted a set of hardware that was not in the main shipment and the hardware arrived before the exhaust. He called a week or so later to ask how the system went on and how I liked it. I cannot ask for any better service and expected less

Dan is indeed the man! I was searching high and low for a good deal on some 17" Speedline Supertourismos and Dan stepped up with a great deal and super fast shipping. The wheels came in exactly 4 days, as promised since I ordered on a Friday. He went the extra mile and made sure they got out on the same day I ordered, then kept in contact with me while he was on vacation to Cali! Now that is service! I'm really glad I have a reliable source out there that is willing to hunt down quality products at great prices and is genuinley concerned with customer satisfaction. Hell, he even talked me into waiting a day on a purchase I was thinking of making. I had money burning a hole in my pocket and he made sure I wasn't jumping into a big ticket item that I didn't really need. So, good products, competitive prices, timely service, and sound advice. Can you ask for more?

I would highly recommend him to anyone searching for that "friend in the business" - maybe to help get that hard to get item or just offer a bit of advise :)

I would like to highly commend Dan and Vivid Racing for his superb customer service and his willingness to go the extra mile to service his customers.

He shipped my pulleys overnight at his own cost just so I could have them installed last weekend.

Most vendors would not care; they would go by the means most economical to them.

Dan is always readily available and almost instantly replies to email queries I send.

His prices are also very competitive and he services what he sells.

If you need any parts, I highly recommend you contact Dan at www.vividracing.com

I recently bought a MRT BOV from Dan. It was a group buy. I only paid $170 which I though was a great price considering how nice the BOV is. It's defiantely the nicest looking I've seen out there.
I must have e-mailed Dan 10 times in the week and a half that I waited and always got a response. He even paid the shipping when I got it. I highly recommend Dan and Vivid Racing. He even called me a few days later to see if I needed any help installing the BOV. Really a nice guy and great prices.

just placed an order with dan, nice customer service over the phone.... hopefully this will work out well....

still wary of vendors, since i am still having a bad experience with TRi Tuning.... have not received any of my money back, nor a return to my emails and messages.

SO i have brought my business to Dan at Vivid, and if this goes well, i will be ordering a whoooole lot more from him.

sorry to be "wary," i guess from what i hear, Dan is a great guy with good service, so maybe my wariness is off base, but it's just my trust has been broken by TRI, and has yet to be taken care of, so i apologize other Vendors must suffer the effects, i hope you understand.

very good service on the phone, nice guy. i hope to post even better and more enthusiastic positive remarks in the future!

finally my first good experience with a wrx vendor!

dan said it would take about a week for him to get my dms coilovers in, and then he'd send em out to me, so approx time about 2 weeks.

well, he got em in one week, called me as soon as they got in, and sent em out. i received them today, only 2 days later. now that is service, which added to the great price he gave me.

all you other vendors take a lesson here: under promise, over deliver. i am in e-commerce sales and marketing too, and this is a simple rule. dan obviously knows this rule, and did a great job.

all those who have had so many bad experiences with vendors, like me, just go here, your problems will be solved. i have such peace of mind now when i look for parts. that;s all we consumers want, right? just good service and the truth! it's very simple.

i'm actually kinda sad that they came today, because i have 3 midterms tomorrow, so i cannot install them yet. they are just sitting here in my living room, taunting me.... dang, can't wait till i have time! arg! dan is just too efficient and on the ball!

once again, i cannot praise dan highly enough. it looks like i will be spending $thousands$ more at www.vividracing.com

What I meant to say was look what didn't happen to my car! I have a long story and I hope that all of you read it.

In the middle of August I had the money to get some parts and the only vendor that said that they had the parts I wanted was Vividracing. I called Dan and asked how much for the Injen CAI and the MRT(Hot bits) BOV he gave me a good price v170 on the BOV and a not so good MSRP $300 for the CAI. But, I wanted the parts and I was on a time line because I was going to the states for a month to do some training. Dan said "I have the CAI but the only BOV I have is the one on my car, you can have that one if you want. It has only been there about a week." I was cool with that and asked when I could get everything sent out to me. He said as soon as he got the money he would send it out.

I express mailed him the money order add an extra $12 just to mail it. He got the check and I waited five day before I called him back(long enough for him to get the check and EXPRESS mail the parts like I asked.) On this phone call he said that the CAI didn't come in on the shipment he was expecting. Remember that I asked if he had all of the parts. By the end of the call we had decided that he would have it waiting for me when I got back from my training, early Oct. But, Okay.

I left for my training and when I got back there was a message on my voice mail saying that because of what happened on the 11th of Sep and me being in the military he didn't send it because he didn't know if I would be there to pick it up. I can totally understand that. When I called him and talked with him, he apologized for the delay and said that he would throw in an I-badge for me. I thought cool that will make up for the delay. At this point I was thinking that I would get my stuff in about three days. He had a month and a half to set everything aside and I thought that I paid for Express mail.

Four working days later I called him back, I still didn’t have my parts. He said "as soon as he gets in the parts he would ship it out to me." Remember that I already paid for the parts and he had a month and a half to set them aside. Dan told me that my CAI would be in, the next day and shipped the day after. My BOV would NOT be in for a WEEK. About a week after talking to Dan I got my CAI. Which is the same time my BOV was suppose to arrive at his shop, but got stuck in customs. There is nothing he could do to prevent that from happening, EXCEPT set aside my stuff like he should have. As of yesterday when I talked Ron from Vividracing my stuff was still in the mail.

Let me talk about Ron quick. Ron is the WORST customer relation’s person I’ve ever dealt with. He tried to blame me for the whole incident.

KEY POINTS:

DAN SAID HE HAD THE STUFF.

DAN SAID HE COULD MEET MY TIMELINE.

I THOUGHT I WAS PAYING FOR EXPRESS MAIL

DAN HAD A MONTH AND A HALF TO SET IT ASIDE.

I PAID FOR IT, IT’S MINE NOT THE NEXT GUY THAT ORDERS THE SAME THING, AND HE GETS IT JUST BECAUSE I’M NOT HOME.

A $30 I-BADGE DOESN’T PAY FOR THE MONEY I SPENT TO GET THE STUFF AND SCREW ME OVER. I SPENT OVER $70 BY NOT WAITING.

RON SHOULDN’T HAVE BLAMED ME FOR THEIR MISSTAKES.

Hey Dan remember that Vividracing sticker, I wiped my a$$ with that stupid looking thing.

Grow Up?? I think You need to think about what you're saying Dan before Alot of Other people get a bad impression of you, (as if we don't already). ... a vender that calls people(customers) names b/c they are unsatified and letting other people know, ...in a place that is set up for exactly that, to discuss their dealings with vendors.

This Forum is to Discuss peoples dealings with said vendors, Whether good or bad.

I know Mike, he is Not lying, and others know this as well. If each and every person needs to come post that Mike isn't lying b/c of you turning the blame to Mike, ...then so be it. What would he possibly have to gain?
I know for a fact Mike contacted vividracing continuosly to find out info on his parts. So why do you accuse him of Not contacting you?? AND, his parts were Not set One week after he got back.

And lastly, You have a Problem with Military??(oh, it's Just MIke, ...right?? ) I'll tell you, You Will Not Go Far with and attitude like that. People will make sure of it.

I in the past have posted many arguments, namely arguing with TRi tuning, but other moderators told me this is not the place for getting problems solved. do that with email or on the phone. as a moderator, Scooby South, u should be the one to explain this, not me, and not be encouraging more of the same behavior. and believe me, i know how frustrating vendors can be, my problem was much worse with TRi than yours is with Vivid.

i understand dan's last retaliatory post was unprofessional, but that does not give you the right to threaten vivid's right to do business here.

look at all the other vendors. why don't you ban TRi? they have almost all negative reviews. Dan has all positive reviews except one. what does that say? it means dan is one of the few vendors that will actually do good by us, almost all of us. the posts are not just simply positive, but very enthusiastic and excited about good dealings with dan, because we know how hard it is to find a good vendor here. it took many vendors screwing me over to finally find vividracing, and i don't want to lose them as a rare company among subaru vendors.

believe me i know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of a vendor's sales tactics. but this is only one case, which IS still bad, but not enough for a moderator to take such a stance. please be fair.

i am not saying mike is lying, or that he is wrong at all, i am saying, good, u posted your negative review, now handle the rest elsewhere, even though it sounds difficult. i had to do the same.

peace,
mk

Makka..
Theres more to being a moderator than what your presenting...but I appreciate your help, and I am glad you have had wonderful dealings with Vivid..however...it is also my job to not let people take advantage of a situation. I understand there is alot of praise for Vivid here but You don't know the "WHOLE Thing" and when a negative comment does come up, Personal attacks and sarcarism don't do the trick...Good customer service skills do. And I can say that 'all' the moderators are watching certian things on the board and this happens to be one of them..And as a moderator, "I Can" choose to boot people out if I want..but I am not looking to boot out Vivid... I just want him to assume some responsibility for his actions...and do the right thing...and stop trying to be so intimidating...Thats my gripe.."The world does not revolve around Vivid Racing"...All of us are people just like him...Know what I mean...again thanks for your concern..

Just wanted to throw my $.02 in here: First and formost I've never met nor have I ever talked to Mike or dealt with vivid Racing. So...

It looks to me like the customer had a legitamate grip that he took to the proper place (this forum) and in the proper fashion (by posting). As a sales manager of many years and even a (former) moderator of a popular public. I can say that this hasn't been handled very well up until this point.

First the vendor is way out of line, regardless of whether the customer is blatently lieing or not. The personal attack is uncalled for and makes Vivid look very bad. (which is interesting because I got into an accident with a WRX at 4am this morning and called Vivid no more than an hour ago... )

Also, I respect the passion and protective instinct of the moderator, but threatening to "cut off" the vendor because of a single bad post is a bit extreme. Don't ya think?

I really don't think the vendor is going to have a problem with the military. I'm former military as well, and can say with absolute certainty that if in fact that were the case, he would not be in business very long ;)

So, Since people obviously seem to respect the vendor, the customer and the Moderator, there is only one smart thing to do here. Sit back for a second, relax and not type when pissed off. :)

Peace!

Dan at vivid, threatens me to not send my center caps for my OZ sl that I ordered 4 weeks ago because I told him to take down my logo design that he stole from me. He told me to relax other wise I won't get my center cap and not to **** with him. A vender threatens the customer on holding the products that the customer already paid for is really unprofessional. Not to mention that he is still illegally using my logo design to represent his company.

Here is what he said on the email about my purchase and the logo matter (read from the bottom up):

So is this about logo's or delivery dates or center caps? I for one would like to see the original and the one on their site side by side to see what's been altered. If your complaint is valid, the proper course of action would be to contact an attorney. Telling them to take it down won't accomplish anything. If nothing at all you are just attracting more attention to Vivid.

Can you post the two logo's please?

Dan basically changed the color from two colors to one, actually the new banner ad he has is the exact logo (2 colors). It is exactly the same, I am thinking about suing him but still wondering if it is worth the money to do so.

I laugh at the made up stuff you kids say. Mike(logo), quit it.
Your center caps are in the hands of TireRack, when they get the stock from OZ, they will ship them out to me. The center caps have been a problem for alot of GOLD OZ. OZ messes up.

Mike(Hawaii), if your friend has a comment, tell him to keep it ot himself or call me directly, he has not purchased from me therefore has no imput.

ive read all the latest posts and personally it doesnt affect my purchases with this vendor at all...i always receive replies to my many many many emails that i send to dan within the hour usually...he has always been professional and has never made me think otherwise of him. in fact, vivid racing has been one of the best vendors i have dealt with in a long time...i look forwards in doing some more business with dan in the future...

i personally think the stuff you guys are talking about with the logo does not need to be discussed here...that is a personal business matter which does not reflect vivid racing's sales, prices or sales experiences which is what i thought this forum was meant for.

Well I just received my latest order from Dan. This was the 3rd or 4th order I'ved placed with him in the last 3 months. I ordered a GReddy 52mm electronic boost gauge. Through no fault of his (his vendor was backordered) it took about 3 weeks to get here. He kept me updated and overnighted it to me at no additional charges.

I think people need to understand that the WRX and brand spanking new. We don't have the luxury that the DSM and Supra guys have of having a gigantic aftermarket and hundreds of vendors to choose from. Most of the vendors on this board (and I suspect that Dan is in this category) are little more than Mom and Pop shops, running the business from the garage. No vendor is going to be perfect but Dan has always done everything he can to make things right.

Ok...I'm trying not to get involved with this as much as possible, being that I have had no contact with Dan or anyone else at Vivid Racing. I also cannot say anything that won't be viewed as biased because Mike is a freind of mine. However, upon following this thread since Mike's post, I cannot say that there is nothing wrong with the way things have been handled.

First, this forum is here for customers to place their reviews on a particular vendor and thier experiences with that vendor, whether they are good or bad experiences. If a vendor does not like a review he gets from a customer and that review is posted on this forum, then the vendor should take that criticism as constructive. The vendor should not lash out and try to put the customer down. Personally, that makes the vendor look bad and unprofessional. I cannot say I would not do business with Vivid just based on Mike's expereinces, but I will say that it does affect any decision I make whether to purchase from Vivid or not.

I have already had personal experience with another vendor and his lack of response and HORRIBLE customer service. I will NEVER do business with him and his company ever again. I have also advised many of my fellow Impreza owners to not do business with him as well. I only say this because this was my experience with a bad vendor deal and how I responded to it. Mike had his experience and he shared it...that what this post is here for.

Secondly, the PM's and e-mails that Vivid has sent Mike and other customers (as far as the logo situation) are in extremely bad taste. I see a "dual personality" Vivid Racing...one who is so helpful and thankful for all the good reviews and seems to be generally nice and calm on the outside. Then, we have the "other" Vivid, who sends rude and nasty e-mails and PM's to the customers that have gripes. These may be only for the customers to see, but at the same time, it gives insight to how the vendor deals with bad publicity.

In conclusion, Dan needs to calm down a little, and unfortunately this type of situation can be frustrating when customers are upset with service. You may ask where can I post such a thing and have a right to do so? Not because I am a moderator, but because I work with doctors, nurses, and purchasing agents for thousands of dollars worth of medical equipment each day. These products are not BOV's or things that are added on to one's car for performance...if the products do not get to the customer with their satisfaction, they will be hard pressed not to purchase from my company again, or worse, a patient's care or life can be put in jeopardy. That is my job. I know what I have to do to make the customers happy, and it doesn't stop at the purchasing agent or the doctor...it stops with the patient.

Like I said...this is my personal opinion and what I see. It has nothing to do with my friendship with Mike or anything like that. I hope this is not viwed as a "moderator going postal", but rather a voice of reason in a situation that has gotten out of hand.

I was one of the first to be victimized by Vivid when I innocently asked how he could both have wheels in stock and list a $250 shipping charge. I live about and hour and a half way and was interested in picking up a set of wheels locally. Of course the wheels were really in the UK, not in stock. For my trouble I received PM's saying I was threatening his business and that he was going to get me thrown out of the Arizona Scooby club. He went on to explain that he was an entrepenur and that he would let nothing/no one interfere with his goals. I brought this to the attention of the moderators and the Club Officer's. The end result was Vivid quit the Arizona club before there could be a meeting to discuss his behavior. If you go to the SWIC forum you'll find that he's made no friends in Arizona. Do I believe he'd sell parts that someone paid for cause he knew they were gone? Absolutely - he's an entrepenur and in his mind that justify's anything. :( :(

This is a PM I got from Dan a few days ago. I just want to say that I will not do business with Dan or anyone at Vividracing again. I take this as a bribe and you testing my integrety. I will not budge. I have only defended myself when you tried to blame me. As for my friends thanks for the support and I'm sorry Dan if something you said made them take it personnally.

As for your customers I hope that this doesn't happen to you. And I'm very happy that some of you got the royal treatment.

Dan "Vivid's" PM

Must read.
I did not blame you for anything, did you talk to Rob? Yes, then don't complain about me, deal iwth me if you want a resolution. Your first mistake is getting your friend in on this that has no business saying anything, he never bought from me, stand up for yourself, don't bring him into this. It seems he has all the bad things to say and you nothing, yet you were the customer.

If you want a resolution, call me or email me. I think I can solve your frustration. What you should do is solve this professionally and not bad mouth me. I will take care of you on whatever you need. Your story is straying from what happened. **** happens and it happened from both sides.

Get your friend to erase ALL his post, have him give a letter of apology for not having any business in there, you erase your post, and I will to. Then I will apologize for the mistake, and give you a $45 credit since the price of the intakes has dropped substantially. You want to see what I have available for immediate delivery, visit the vendor classifieds and see my newest for sale post.

Thanks

Dan

I'm sorry to hear that some people have not had a positive experience with Vivid. As others have stated, Dan ALWAYS responds to my emails within minutes or no more than a few hours. I really cannot say this about any other vendor. I attempted to order an exhaust once from Dan and through my own mistake, had to cancel the order at the very last minute. I believe my order may even have been packaged and ready to go. Dan was very understanding of the situation and fully refunded my money. I actually just placed my first "official" order with Dan today for a boost controller and strut bar. Dan thought both items were in stock but later emailed me to tell me the strut bar would not be available until later in the week. That was fine by me, all I ask is to be kept abreast of what is going on and not to be lied to. I don't expect any problems with my order. Dan is a real straight shooter and that is what I like.

General rule of thumb, if you send an email to a vendor and don't get a reply within the timeframe you are looking for, then give them a voice call.

And, of course, sometimes we gotta remember that some items just plain take longer to get for the WRX than for other cars.

Just wanted to send out my respect to the Vivid team. I ordered my GFB BOV from them a few months ago, and now I just ordered a Defi gauge pod. Of course, due to the holidays there was some delay, but they kept good communication and informed me of the delays.

Thank you guys!

I'll be ordering from you again.

I just got my GDB grill from them, it was delayed lbecause of the holidays as well. I must complement Dan and Vivid though. Even when I got inpatient and sent a slightly irked e-mail, they responded quickly and politely. infact every time I emailed them I was responded to quite promptly, in one case in a mater of 10 minutes. Even though I had to wait a little longer than planed, first rate customer sevice, thanks dan!

Vivid definitely comes through...after a mix up with my fog light cover order that wasn't even their fault, they sent my item next day air and paid 16 bucks out of their own pocket to get it to me. I am definitely one happy camper so I just placed an order for rims from them too. They are cool people to work with and you get a personal experience to shopping from them that a lot of vendors don't offer nowadays. Vivid definitely puts their customers first. Thanks guys.

The problem that I noticed with Vivid racing is that they dont seem to stock very many of the parts that they sell so that when it comes to trying to get a product quickly you will notice that they have absolutely no control over when they are going to get the products from their dealer... It becomes misleading when you deal with such a nice website and find out that you have to wait extra weeks for certain parts because they dont even have them..they should note on their page what parts they have in stock so that you dont end up waiting for weeks at a time for parts to arrive

Nobody has everything in stock, all the time - especially for the first year the WRX has been in the states with all us greedy hp addicts. Dan has been very open and truthful with info, and Vivid Racing delivers what they promise. Props to 'em! I've ordered a rexload of stuff from them, some of it has arrived, some of it is on the way, and some of it is expected soon, but I know where we are with all of it.

I have nothing but good to say about Rob and Dan @ Vivid. I was hesitant at first to deal with Vivid because of some of the postings here in the vendow review forum. I'm glad that I ordered through them anyway. I first dealt with Rob regarding an STU grille. STU had been giving Vivid the runaround regarding their bodykit pieces so Rob told me not to continue wasting my time since STU hasn't been good about returning emails. I was pretty bummed at first because I really wanted that grille but there was nothing that Vivid could do for me.

I then called Vivid a couple of weeks later inquiring about an STI grille. Rob told me that a shipment would be coming in later that week. I then proceeded to call to place an order later that week. Dan answered and took my order, he then offers to personally bring the grille to me in person. Keep in mind, I live in california and they are in arizona. Dan happened to be coming in to california that weekend. I felt bad putting them out like that so I opted for shipping. Now get this, I ordered the grille on Friday afternoon and the grille is on my doorstep Monday morning.

Kudos Vivid. You have definitely earned a future customer. I'm keeping my eye out for my hood scoop next.:)

Thanks again,
Arnold

Their service is exceptional, as well as their responses through E-Mail. Recently, I purchased the UK STI wheels from them and that transaction went off without a Hitch. Nothing but smiles here. Dan at vivid has always come through for me. I have ordered and received my Zero Sport spoiler extensions and Perrin uppipe. I am currently waiting for my Samco IC hoses and ILP shifter. He always keeps me informed and replies to my emails. Basically emails are the only way for me to keep in touch with him as I am a contractor here in Kuwait.

I have read the previous posts and am surprised at some of the remarks. I will not take sides. For what it is worth I will say communicate. do it with the person you have the problem with. Do it on an adult level. If that does not work then go to that persons boss. Finally if all fails then don't use that place of business.

i will have to disagree with this one! i had a bad experience with vividracing. they didn't deliver the package in time, instructions missing, some parts missing, tech support over the phone was not pleasant nor helpful...asking me to return something i ordered so they can replace it with something cheaper!!! so i am stuck now with some lame parts that i have to figure out how to install it myself when in fact they could have easily helped me out. so for furture buys or if you are considering to buy the intercooler spray kit, i'd advise not to go through vividracing cause they'll leave you hangin.

We offered help, said we would send you the new switch, offered to refax the instructions for the 4th time and mail a copy to you as well. We added a HIGHER quality switch (STI manual) then the regular flip type.

So actually we have done everything we can and you are not willing to cooperate. if you want the offer we have already told you over the phone, then act mature about it and call back to have it handle like it was already done.

Just wanted to say thanks to Dan and Rob at Vivid. I got my whole order within 2wks of placement. There was a minor screw-up but they are working w/me on this one which wasnt the end of the world. They sent out the STI hood scoop I ordered without sending to be painted first, tho the paint job ahd been chrged to my CC. Rob said mail it back and it will be taken care of so out it goes tomorrow. This is like the 4th or 5th purchase I have done with Dan and Rob at Vivid Racing. Not only am I satisfied, I always look for my needed parts at Vidid Racing first. Then, and only then do I go to another site. Vivid's site is wonderfully put together and has a great selection. I'm sorry others have had problems, however, until the day comes that I get bashed and trashed, I will continue to do business with Vivid. My experiences have been good. Not stellar, but satisfactory.

I do like the relatively quick email turnaround.

However I sometimes wish they could more quickly ship things out... Expediancy is number one in my book. Additionally, through no fault of their own, they have lost a lot of potential sales to me because something wasn't in stock. But there's always some other vendor willing to help, even if it does cost a little extra.

Could you work on incorporating availabilty of stock in your online store?

I do look forward to additional business with Vivid.

Sorry about that ILP, first and foremost I am very happy w/your product. I would like to ask a Q regarding the proper installation of the short shifter. After grinding down a bit of the gasket plate as advised in the initial sale thread the shifting action is free, no more engagement clunks. It seems that some sort of washers should be placed on either side of the stock brass bolt sleve that was inserted into the shifter. It sticks out past the white plastic shifter bushings(?) which are part of the shifter. It transmits a lot of vibration that I would think can be elliminated. Do you have any recomendations? Maybe I tightened down the bolt too much? Any info is greatly apreciated, thanx

You and I have had totally different luck. I can always get ahold of them over the phone and internet, usually within a day of my initial email. Everything I have bought from them has been correct and arrived within plus or minus 1 day of expected delivery. And Dan and Rob have been attentive and helpful with any problems I've had. They have been, and continue to be, some of the most reliable and helpful vendors I've had the pleasure of doing business with. An average parts order for me goes, "Hi Dan, it's Mark Santa Ana. Do you guys have ____ ? What's the turn around on that? Ok, I'll take one. You still have my info? OK thanks. Bye." About two minutes elapse. Sometimes we chat for a bit and talk about new stuff coming up or plans for our cars or I'll ask for advice. The point is, when I call, I always get service and good service at that.

I don't know why you ended up with RHD lights but if the light pattern looks like

\__ \__

instead of

__/ __/

You certainly got the wrong set. Did you consider sending them back and asking for the correct set? Also, I looked at my lights closely today and the ONLY thing that wasn't "plug and play" was the h7 plug for the main lights. This problem is easily resolved if you get the plug and play adaptor from rallyperformance.com or I'm sure if you asked them to, Vivid would source some adaptors for you.
Now despite what you may think, Vivid Racing isn't an online store, it's a normal business with normal hours. Yes they can be reached via email but they often have pages upon pages of email to contend with. Email isn't the best way to reach them, phoning is. If you call during business hours YOU WILL get ahold of someone be it Rob or Dan and they WILL sort you out. It doesn't even sound like you tried very hard to reach them.
I'm so sick of people treating vendors this way.

Here's my rant
I've been waiting for {enter vendor name here} to call, email, messenger pigeon, smoke signal, or candy gram me for six months now!!! I'm sick and tired of waiting for these slackers to respond to my telepathic signals. I'm starting to think my tinfoil hat is broken, no matter how hard I try to send a message out, they don't respond. Now it looks like I'll have to obtain a special dialing want so I can call them on the phone since my fingers are too fat to punch the numbers! I hate you {enter vendor name here}! Why don't you anticipate my every need?

Granted, I hyperbolized a bit, but do you see how silly you sound? Like I said, the internet isn't the ONLY way to reach these guys. Don't rely on it. Hell, Vivid is on my cell phone speed dial. Better luck in the future.

DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS ONLY BECAUSE IM FROM CANADA, OR WHATEVER IT MAY BE, BUT SINCE SENDING A PAYMENT TO VIVIDRACING.COM FOR A HARNESS, ITS BEEN HORRIBLE.

IT CLEARLY STATES ON THE WEBSITE THAT PAYPAL IS ACCEPTED. TAKING THIS INTO MIND, I SEND A PAYMENT TO "DAN@VIVIDWIRELESS.COM" FOR A FORCLOSED AMOUNT. I ALSO EMAIL THE SAME ADDRESS AS WELL AS SALES@VIVIDRACING.COM, IN HOPE TO RECEIVE MY PRODUCT WITH NO PROBLEMS.

I THAN RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM SALES@, SAYING THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL, AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE ORDERED ONLINE!?..I EMAIL THEM BACK STATING THAT THE WEBSITE CLEARLY SAYS THAT PAYPAL IS ACCEPTED! AND AT THE SAME TIME, DAN@VIVIDWIRELESS ACCEPTS MY PAYPAL PAYMENT.

BEING A LITTLE CONFUSED AS TO WHAT WAS GOING ON, I WAS EXPECTING AN EMAIL STATING EITHER THAT THEY CANNOT PROCESS THE ORDER, OR THAT I HSOULD GO BACK, HAVE MY PAYPAL PAYMENT REFUNDED, AND ORDER ONLINE.

THEY THEN GO ON TO EMAIL ME AFTER STATING THAT PAYPAL WAS ON THEIR WEBSITE, (WHICH I SHOULD POINT OUT, WAS TOTALLY IGNORED ON THE REPLY EMAIL), AND THAN TELL ME THAT SHIPPING TO CANADA IS $20 US. I HARDLY BELIEVE THAT GROUND SHIPPING UPS TO CANADA FROM THE STATES FOR A PACKAGE THAT CANNOT BE LARGER THAN A SMALL BOX, IS $20. I'VE HAD EXHAUST SHIPPED FOR $25.

AND AT THE SAME TIME, THEY SEEM RATHER RUDE THAT I LIVE IN CANADA:

"YOU LIVE in Canada. Not our fault that is the rate."

I DONT THINK THIS IS PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE.
AND I DONT BELIEVE THAT THEY SHOULD POST SOMETHING ON THE WEBSITE WHEN ITS NOT TRUE, AND THAN GO ON TO ACCEPT PAYMENTS, AND THAN GO ON TO SAY THAT SHIPPING IS GONNA BE MORE EXPENSIVE.

IM NOT SURE IF IT IS DAN, OR WHOEVER, BUT I'VE HEARD GREAT STORIES ABOUT VIVIDRACING.COM. SO THATS WHY I DECIDED TO ORDER FROM THEM.

NOT ANYMORE..

I APOLOGIZE TO THOSE WHO HAVE ORDERD FROM THEM AND RECEIVED YOUR PRODUCT WITH NO PROBLEMS OR HASSLES.

TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK KEY!!!

If it's been less than 6 days since your order, Dan can refund your paypal money in full, after that, PayPal charges fee's in both directions (bastages)

I've only heard good things about vividracing/dan. UPS or other services might actually be 20$ or higher for Canadian shipments, the only service that is cheap internationally for small items is the USPS, and not all people use the USPS for their business for various reasons.

It would have been prudent to email them and get your order details straight beforehand because of the fact you are from Canada, not all businesses in the US like to ship internationally, not trying to be rude, but this is what I have found and heard from my Canadian friends in other car clubs. It works the same way when I try to order things internationally TO the US.

i've only heard good things about Dan and vividracing.com too, thats why i decided to try them!

I've had shipment via UPS for huge packages, close to half a fridge in size, with shipping only $25.

i mean, if they do not want to ship to me, they shouldnt have accepted the paypal payment, especially after emailing me and complaining that they dont accept paypal, and that i hsould have ordered online..

fine..if that was the case, which it sure doesnt look like according to the website..they should have refused my payment.

all i'm looking for is simplicity in an order and adequate customer service..

all of you, whether a customer of vivid or not, should understand this.

As a Vendor, I have had dealings with Dan at Vivid many times and find him to be both cooperative and fair. So, I would say this is an isolated incident and I'm sure Dan will do the right thing. But, since 9/11, we have all had shipping challenges that did not seem to be a problem before. USPS is cheaper than UPS going to Canada. As far as shipping large boxes with body kits -- UPS and Fed Ex both refused to ship our C-West kits to Canada, and we were quoted between $500-$700 for shipping complete kits to Canada via other air-freight companies. If you have a shipper who only charges $50 to ship a body kit, please share this information, as we were not able to find such a service from California. (Seriously, we'd like to try your shipper!) Thanks!

On the other hand, our experience with our Canadian customers has been that they have been very understanding and worked with us to get their goods shipped. We also apologize for the extra charges imposed on our Canadian neighbors -- I understand that they also get hit hard at customs! Not fair, but we are open to suggestions for less expensive transport, as most of the vendors here make very little profit and cannot absorb the shipping costs or we'd go out of business!

I have made my first and last purchase from Vivid. I had been looking for some Morette headlights, and had actually found them cheaper elsewhere. Then I got rear-ended and my car was going to be in the shop for 2 weeks:( I figured if I could get the headlights while the car was being painted, they could do the lights too, cheaply. The other, really helpful vendor was out of stock, I decided to pay $50 more through Vivid so that I could get them on time, since they had them "in stock". Turns out "in stock" for Vivid means drop-shipped from the UK, and they were out, so...a week after my car is out of the shop, my lights show up. Not only did I pay more, now I have to spend $75 instead of $25 to have them painted. On top of it all, I recieved UK-spec lamps: beam pattern looks like this \___ \___ instead of ___/ ___/
I sent them an email to try and resolve the problem, and Dan did his best to try and make me feel like an idiot by telling me that there is no such thing and that I can't do anything about it because they have already been painted and installed. I even sent ham a link to graham goode UK that shows there are separate part #'s for US and UK lights.

I know your site says it doesn't sell the LHD, but since they didn't actually come from you, there may have been a mistake on the other end, an idea which I did mention in my earlier communication with you. Since, from what I understand, you never came in contact with my set of lights, there is no way of you knowing for sure what I am receiving. Bottom line: I spent almost $700 for a set of lights that look great, but aren't what they are supposed to be, and got zero help from you to resolve it.

Why should a valid complaint be deleted? That is what this forum is for- complaints and praises. Should the posts from satisfied customers be deleted as well, or am I missing something ? Certainly speaking directly with you is the best way to solve the problem, but it seems you are asking him to deny that a problem he feels he has had with his experience exists.

Tracking numbers rule! Thanks Dan, I'm a happy camper! Still undecided about the intake though. :p

Yeah they did a pretty good job of misleading me with what they told me. I received an e-mail from dan stating "Give you a small break since you have a large order. The lights and side markers will ship Monday and the scoop once it arrives, about 2-3weeks
painted." Received no break and got my sti hoodscoop UNPAINTED!!!! Now I realized I didn't make the group buy but I stated I wanted the scoop painted and was aware of the $40 charge. Still no paint. Called dan on thursday and he said since I didnt make the group buy, that's the reason it wasn't painted. Offered nothing except for me to send the thing back and proceeded to warn me the painting process is backed up. I am very upset with the Vivid Racing company and I am furious in the non-service attitude I was given over the telephone. I demand satisfaction if I am going to spend 900+ dollars for a pair of friggin headlights, clear side markers, and the hoodscoop! Rediculous!

Ya know I had a problem with Vivid a couple weeks ago but have since settled my differences with them. As the customer service issue.....i think they give pretty good service. To each their own.

Oh ya wrong forum...should have post this in the Vivid merged thread in reviews....Moderators do your duty.

You're probably not screwed by them, meaning they will get it out to you eventually, but the question is when.
They should give you some kind of concrete answer as to why it is taking longer than expected, but if you think you are getting the run around then I would cancel my order NOW. Remember there are many other vendors out there. Did you charge it on your credit card ?, if so then even if they don't want to give you a refund when you request it you could still call your C.C. company and they will handle it for you. Good luck...

I had to hound them for a tracking # as well and I got the "will be in next week" treatment. They did finally come through for me. I would surf a bit more before I used them again...but all the Web business jerks people around not just Vivid.

I had a similar problem. I ordered something and was told two weeks. It turned into 2 months. I tried canceling my order to get a refund and I got store credit. Had to spend it on something else just to get my moneys worth out of them.

I guess I can chime in here:
I never have purchased anything through Vivid, although I did on numerous occasions over the past 2-3 weeks send him my business information in the hopes of becoming a dealer FOR HIM. These emails, phone calls, and faxes (At least 2 of each) have gone unanswered and I have since taken my business and the business of the customers I had lined up elsewhere.

Dan and the rest of the Vivid crew, thank you for making a place on your website welcoming dealers, now start following up. I am no longer interested in your business or helping your business strive. I appreciate you wasting my time, and have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Peter

My experience with Vivid Racing has been great so far. Some of there prices are a little high, but their service is top of the line and they have a great selection of products.

I have bought several things from Dan at Vivid including a set of OZ SL rims. I found him to be very professional and a man of his word.

I would do business with him in a hearbeat (as soon as I recover from all the money I've recently spent).

Well, I've ordered a few times from Vivid and as of yet I have had no problems with them. I did receive an E-mail stating that (paraphrasing a little) with the increased popularity of the Subaru, parts are beginning to come on on demand. So if there is a delay in your order, that's why. Well, I understand that... so Until I get no product, and a crappy reason, I'll continue to order from them

I-56D2 (i'm supposed to put that there for a $5 in-store coupon) Lots o' money.

Vivid racing has excellent service but does take a little of time to get the product but other then that good service. One thing they can do is notify me if there out of stock on some product cause i was waiting for one product for a long time without knowing that it was out of stock until i emailed them.

A really good selection that is unmatched by anyone else. The experience was totally positive, but their online support skills could be improved a bit (one phone call sorted things out though). I would recommend them to anyone.
