View Full Version : How does this look for my car?

Okay, it's about time I get the exterior of my car done. Between school, flying, wanting to do some power mods, etc, I don't have much cash to blow on the body. I was planning to do the paint myself in the paint booth at the auto hobby shop on base. So that'll save some money there. How's this photoshop idea for my stock bumper look? Wouldn't be much fiberglass/bondo work to make it look like this. I don't have a grill yet, that's photoshop too. I do have a 2.5RS coupe spoiler, but don't know if I want to put it on. Would make my car stick out more, I like it looking low key.

As for the color, I'm thinking a dark silver, like the S2000's silver maybe. Sound good?

that s2000 silver would look good:cool:
u should add clear lights to the bumper too...thats more power for your car:lol:

i'd leave the 2.5 rs spoiler off, its just a regular Impreza L right:devil:

paint one color and keep it as a sleeper. reverse hoodscoop (aqua ?)

Yea I'll paint it all one color. I just couldn't change the hood and hood scoop color in photoshop because black and white don't change well. I'm leaning towards a silver color because it looks nice and doesn't stick out to much. Maybe get clear bumper lights, but I kinda like orange on a silver car so I don't know. No reverse hood scoop for me with the TMIC though. If I went that route, I'd just stick with an L hood and have the ultimate sleeper. To much $ to do that though.

a 2.5 rs bumper would look good with the grill:D but you'd lose the sleeper look.

sleeper look is the way to go:devil:

That's more money to spend though. Plus the 2.5RS bumper doesn't look right unless you have side skirts because it extends down lower than an L bumper to match up with the skirts. I have considered a ver 1-4 WRX/STI bumper. It looks alright even without skirts. This is the Ver 1-4 bumper:

I may try modding the L bumper like the photoshop for now. If it looks good, then keep it. If not, try to pick up, or get somebody to pick me up a ver 1-4 bumper for cheap while TDY overseas.

just keep the L bumper so you can save your $$.
but if its afforfable, go for it.

That silver one looks sweet. Is that what you're going for? That be cool...

For the lower priced, lower key option, might be worth checking into the early RS bumpers, IIRC, Tim's RS has a different bumper than Kris's old RS, kind of a lower key look, with rectangular fogs. I'll try to find a pic...

yeh eby,

i think sleeper look too....

get like a legacy hood (if it fits?) without any hood vents or scoops, lower your car, and paint it the silver.

Don't think a legacy hood would fit. Although if you are going for the sleeper look, a Legacy scoop would be less noticeable. But....there are so many OBS and RS's around, no one would no the wiser anyway.

I don't have a grill yet, that's photoshopped in.

The silver car is a stock bumper sold overseas on the earlier WRX/STI's.

Both pics of the L are the same, just slightly different angles to give a better idea of what it would look like. Here's what my stock bumper looks like:
