so we all know that the wrx engine swap can be done fairly easily, just very tedious and meticulous. i was wondering though, most people have the wrx engine in and are pretty happy, but has any started modding the engine even further? i know its already fast then a stock wrx but what about adding new mods to the new engine? i haven't heard of anybody doing this yet so i wanted to put this out there. could the stock RS tranny hold more power?

rimrockaz has a vf30 and front mount. once my swap gets done in june i'll definitly be adding mods. how else am i supposed to get close to 300whp? i'm probably gonna go with a td05-16g or 18g or maybe vf22. plus either an ecutek, cobb reflash, or utec.

what about exhaust piping? are you going to be buying GDA wrx parts and just modifiying them? also, are you going to be running hardened gearsets or what?

i'm going to buy an sti ver 3-6 ra box, but if i can't afford that at first, i'll just buy a better clutch for my RS tranny. i'm gonna use a gda downpipe with custom piping and scoobysport muffler.

Sure, you can use any WRX exhaust, you'll just have to cut and re-weld one exhaust hanger. Or, if you get a JDM-length downpipe, you can probably use any JDM GC8 exhaust. Not sure about that, though. That Fujitsubo exhaust in the Vendor Classifieds looks yummy!

My current setup is blitz intake, hks bov, vf30 turbo, FMIC, injectors, fuel rails, fuel pressure regulator, 3" bellmouth downpipe, 3" catback exhaust, flex joint uppipe and LINK ECU, etc.. the car runs great w/o any issues right now and I hope to stay this way for a long time.
however, I think my tranny will have problem soon.. the car is very torquey at all gears..so if it does break apart, a type RA 5spd or 6spd will be called for duty (if funds permit) ..
