Hi, I am looking to install a new motor into my 94 Impreza. I was looking at getting a Legacy Tubro engine (EJ22G) and was wondering what all is intailed in doing this swap. Do you have to change ECU's? Do you have to change power steering components? and what about all the other parts that may need to be swapped? Can I just swap the engine directly with just a few connector mods? Is this basically the same work that is involved in an 02' EJ20T swap?
Please help. All help is appreciated!
Thanks, Micah

does anyone know? It's been done before so I know someone has to know.

You'll need a to use some engine management. You might be able to get away with piggy-back computers like AFCs and ITCs, but that all adds up pretty quickly. The stock Turbo Legacy (USDM) should work. Not sure how much wiring harness work is involved. My suggestions would be to talk to RalliSpec or Lachute Subaru, or another place that has done lots of conversions.

Does the 94 impreza have its engine harness coming out right between the battery and the washer tank, or near the transmission plugs?

I'm not sure I'll check and post it. Why do you ask?
