equals one hell of a finish! Man this thing is SMOOOOOOTH!!!! If you have the time...I really suggest trying it. The paint feels sooooo damn good.

I use the Maguire 3 step process and I really like it...I'be been wanting to try the clay bar though.

Zymol is great.

i was going to use the clay bar, but i couldn't find one around anywhere. But ended up with the 3M three steps are per the body/detail shop reccommended and the results were great. I think that as long as you do one of these 3 step procceses the resutls will be great. (it is kinda like the 10 steps of AA.http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif)

IMO..if you want to use Meguiar's try using the beige bottle (their professional line) especially #7 and #26...hi tech yellow wax and show car glaze (it;s a polish)..

you will see the result is much much better than the 3 step process..
as fas the cleaner..you don't actually need the cleaner if ur paint is not oxidized..IMO it's better to use clay bar instead of cleaner..
followed by polish and wax..

is #7 the polish and #26 the wax?

i was suggested liquid glass works good gonna give it a try.

Don't buy meguire's (I can never spell that) clay bar treatment!

The clay bar came off all over my car! Took me two hours of carefully scraping and then waxing to get the crap off! And that was just one test swipe on the fender! Lousy stuff!

And autozone wouldn't give me a refund either.

Again I have to come to defend the honor of the clay bar.

you are the only person I have EVER heard of that had a problem with the clay bar. Please tell the folks here what you did, and by that I mean how you used it on your car.

Did you apply the clay bar with the cleaner or without. If you used it dry, which it sounds like you did, then you should try to read the directions. I have used the clay bar on four different vehicles over three years of use and have had spectacular results that no plain wax job can duplicate.

I would love to know what happened to get clay on your car in such a profuse manner.

Yes #7 Show car gloss, #26 Wax. I use these with the clay bar and WOW! Amazing.

BUT two warnings, don't bother using the gloss without a clay bar, you'll be there for ever buffing as hard as you can to get rid of residue left on the car. And DON'T use #2 (Fine Cut Remover) on Subaru paint, it'll destory it, any other car works great, but not ours http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif

Clay bar is awesome. I use that, then go over the car with Zymol HD Cleanse to clean it all off perfectly, then go with a coat of Zymol Japon for the wax. I only clay it twice a year or so though.

You are supposed to use it with #34 final inspection spray.

You take the meguiars clay bar (half of one), put in the palm of your hand, make into a patty, then get the #34 spray and wet the clay, and spray on the surface of the car and just rub the clay bar all over the section until smooth, then with 100% terry cloth wipe down, then i use a polishing rag and wipe down even further.

just wanna share my experience with you..

I actually used to use those 3 combinations (clay bar, show car glaze, and hi tech yellow wax)

but since last year..I started to use klasse..I use the combination of klasse all in one and klasse high gloss sealant..it's an acrilic sealant not a carnauba based wax..
they provide more protection in exterme weather like in WI..especially during winter..and they provide at least 6 months protection..this I have proved it myself..the shine is not decreased during those 6 months (with regular washing of course)..

but anyway, I still have several bottles my meguiar's stuff in my cabinet..maybe I'll use them during the summer months (when I can polish and wax frequently)..or when I feel to do the "show car trick" by applying a canauba based wax (like zymol, meguira's hi tech yellow, etc.) on top of acrylic or polymer sealant (like klasse or zaino)..this will further enhance the shine IMO..

oh I forgot..I still use my mothers clay bar before applying klasse all in one and high gloss sealant..

I also sometimes use 3m stuff like their scratch remover to remove minor scratches or swirls..http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Guys... I followed the directions to a T.

Used it with the detail 'final inspection' spray that was included. The putty came off everywhere and the spray did not help. I tried it with generous amounts of the spray and then also with the recomended amount of spray. And I had already washed the car and dried it before hand.

When I picked up the clay bar and took it out of the plastic wrap it was coming off on my hands. I had never used a clay bar before so instead of throwing it away I tried a swipe or two.

Quality control anyone?

I was going to chide you for not knowing how to use the bar too-- there is technique, but if it was coming off in your hands...well, it sounds like you got the one-in-amillion hunka clay that didn't quite turn out right.

Yeah, I read all the destructions and even searched for proper use before buying the kit.

That clay bar was nasty. I am going to try and find a different brand, but the local Autozone doesnt carry anything else.

It could also be that the kit I bought had been sitting on the shelf for over a year.

Not too many rednecks use clay bars on their trucks.
