Hi, I'm trying to do an engine swap for my EJ18. It's a weak engine and I wanted to swap it with at least a EJ22. I was looking into swaping an EJ25, EJ22, EJ22G or an EJ22T engine and was wondering if these engines will require an ECU swap or can I just swap the engines with relatively minor harness mods? Specifically a 97 EJ22 into the 94 EJ18.
All help is very appreciated!!:)
Thanks, Micah

all the swaps you are looking at are just as complex as the usdm ej20 swap that you are selling/sold

Ok so what if I used a 95 EJ22? would that be a simple swap only one year apart and no major motor differences? Would this be easier?

well .. if you did it right .. no not easier

if you used the 2.2na ecu yeah it woudl be easier .. but it won't run "right"

and if you use the block? cuz i have a ej18, and im try to put the cams on it, only the 3/4 of the ej22 and the rest of the ej18

Every swap will be very similar, the one one that wont require a new ecu or new wiring would be if you turbo your EJ18, by putting EJ22 heads and other supporting parts to turbo the EJ18. You will need to get a piggyback tuning system. Its been done several times with successful results. The few people who have done it are making over 200HP

Nice, another thread brought back from the dead. Please look at dates, also if you search for threads from the original poster you will see he has learned quite a bit in the last 4-5 years.
