Yesterday, I saw a squashed one gallon paint can and white paint on the road. I thought I had avoided all of it, but when I got home I noticed that there was a lot of little spots of white paint on the front right wheel / tire, plastic and on the paint on the front right fender and drivers door. Any ideas on the best way to take this stuff off with out damaging anything?

usually the best thing is try to get it off ASAP by using a little denatured alcohol and then washing and then waxing the area immediately after. This should work, some people might have a better suggestion...

i removed paint overspray off my last car using detail clay...
i guess it depends on HOW much and HOW badly you got splattered...
good luck

I would guess that there are several hundred little spots and a few bigger blobs. I am going to try clay tonight after work. Thanks

Get a good clay bar. It may take a while, but is completely harless and will do the trick. Don't use cheap clay bars (they aren't even real clay) like Mothers, spend the extra $ on a quality one.
Good luck :)
I have my trusty Griots clay bar. I think I am set for a entire evenings entertainment.
The clay bar removed most of the spots on the paint and I was able to get the rest off with my fingernail. I am still having problems with the plastic rocker cover. The fingernail method is working, but I am about down to the nub on both hands. I tried the clay on the plastic without success. Any ideas.

bobg,
I had something similar happen. On a drive home from work one day, they wonderful state of NY decided to paint new lines on the road. No signs saying wet paint, nothing. Needless to say, I got a ton of white paint on the side of my car. I too used my finger nails and denatured alcohol till I was down to nubs. I then resorted to one of those soft plastic putty applicators. It worked great and left only slight scratches that I removed with superfine rubbing compound. Hope this helps.
