I know that STI drivetrain parts can be bought from Mauro Motorsports, Rallispec, etc, I want to be able to source these parts from STI or a overseas Subaru/STI dealership directly. Is this possible? Will companies ship overseas? Do you have to have a business or can this be done as an individual? Is there a problem with customs? If this is possible, who should I contact? The reason I want to do this is to cut out the "middle man". I want to source a Version 7 shortblock, possibly a complete longblock. Axis Power Racing has great deals on engines, but I would like everything to be brand new. I would buy a take out engine but I would like the mileage to be >10 miles. I understand that new STI parts are expensive and especially new parts will bring a premium. I am willing to pay this premium. I did a search and I could not find anything on this topic and hopefully this thread will help others also.
Thanks,
Matt

They are sort of middle men, but they have good connections to virtually new engines or supply new engines and parts.

i can get you all the ver7 and ver8 parts you want dude. all from cars with under 50km on them. i can't say the parts are new because the car has 50km, but its not wrecked and the parts are basically new. Engines, brakes, trannies, complete drivetrains, seats, dash, guage clusters, complete cars. whatever you want.

"premium" is right, V7 engine is $7,700 plus shipping from the dealer in Japan... and then you still don't have the ECU or any of the electronics. Good luck.
