Does anyone think the 2.5L will benefit from being spun before started?
Some years ago there used to be products that would lubricate the engine before it started. Only way I can see to replicate this is to spin the whole engine, which likely has a mechanical oil pump that isn't efficient at low speeds.

The only reason I'm wondering about all this is cuz I'm setting up remote start and have a chance to work this into it. Any ideas? thanks

You may want to post this in a more general 2.5l section

That's the general opinion I've heard.
when I was just a wee puff my dad showed me how to unplug the distributor and turn the engine over for a bit after changing the oil, before "really" starting it.
I guess that lesson still follows me around :}
