I'm in the process of performing a WRX swap at this time and I have to convert my AT RS into a 5MT using the WRX tranny o bought. I was wondering if anyone could clarify what parts I will need. I think what I need is the clutch master cylinder and a MT pedal set, which I have out of a 2001 RS. Is there anyone who can help me visualize the process??

hmm. i wish i could help with pictures because i'm doing the same too. i'm using the wrx driveshaft and got the clutch master cyclinder and pedal set. other than that it's almost completed. Driveable by next week. :devil:

I'd also like some more info on this, I'm thinking about swapping the 4EAT in my MY01 RS for a beefed up WRX 5MT. What parts are required for the swap?

on stock wrx there rear differential is 3.9 (please anyone correct me if i'm wrong, but that is what i have read in the forums) and for my 98 it was a 4.44, it's got a different ratio so you will swap that out too. for auto to manual; have clutch, clutch master cyclinder, rear diff. (if not same ratio), make sure you have the clutch and flywheel too.

Can the RS axels be used with the WRX tranny and rear diff?? Are the driveshaft and the rear diff the only things that I have to get??

yeah. the wrx tranny and rear diff. worked with my 98 rear axle. hey. 98 Drivestrain for sale! need to get rid of it.

So does the wrx 5mt just bolt into the rs car using the same mounts/brakets stuff? I'm assuming it would but would like to know this for my legacy conversion.
