I'm real sorry if this is sounding redundant to you folks, but I would like to find a JDM Ver. VI motor for my 2.5RS, just wondering where's the best place to find them, thanks!:)

Search these Nasioc forums

Look for rally teams in US and Can. they usually have stuff.

Search google for jdm wrx engine's and plenty of stuff will come up.

Speedbump RS in toronto (don't know the url) is great to deal with.

Hell, look 9 posts down.

There are also many individuals who can help you, maybe they will chime in.

There are probably a million places that could source one for you, but finding a good price is the key.

I have the same car, and would also like to find more information on this.

And why have you decided specifically on the Ver. VI RA engine?

What do you do about fuel with a JDM STi engine installed?

Carry around a few gallons of toluene?

My STi Ver. 3 motor seems perfectly happy with the 93 octane premium fuel here in MI. I TRY to get 94 octane when I can, but I've even run 92 octane a couple of times with no noticeable decrease in performance, but I've only run 1 or 2 tankfuls of 92.

I run Sunoco 94 (which is 98 RON) and toss in a few gallons of GT 100 every now and then... No problems here :)

I made a post about General EJ20 conversion sources and info last Feb '02. It probably still has a lot of very releveant info. I put 20k miles on my original jdm TD05 beast before selling it to a dude in Tenneesee. Rallispec did the swap, and their work is top notch. They did my stand alone ecu tuning, ACT clutch upgrade, boost controller install/tweaking, etc. Can't go wrong with professionals like them.

Of course, now I'm doing my own TD05 swap into another lightweight early Impreza chassis, so maybe I'll be the next jdm Impreza tuner for the middle East coast.:D lol...

I'm almost positive that an RA engine is the same as a regular STi engine, so don't go crazy trying to find one or pay extra for it. The difference is in the RA tranny and drivetrain, so if you're getting it all then it could be worth it.

I think the STi RA's have different cams then the plain STi. Might be worth a couple hp but not worth paying alot of money for.
