Hate to burst your bubble, but not anytime soon at least. Subaru has been about being a somewhat affordable, family hauler (less the STi models which are just a little faster vehicles that can technically be family haulers.) But I person can dream.

Maybe $50k+ too interested, I doubt it.

Sorry, but not happening. The main issue is... Where does subaru get the tranny? The only mid-engine AWD cars I know of are Lambo's and subaru won't go there because it puts the engine way to high. In fact with the flat layout its a royal bitch to run a driveshaft past the motor w/o hitting something critical like the oil sump or exaust.

So It might be possible if they convert it to drysump, and lift the motor some. But the tranny would still be either an expensive one from a different maker, or an expensive convertion of a Subaru one that is completely unsuited to this use.

Isn't that essentially the B11S? I mean, weld the back doors shut and resign yourself to another 100 hp.

two things subaru needs:
- larger suv (coming soon)
- compact "smaller than impreza" type car (something to sell in the $12K-$18K range to undercut RS and TS) the boxer 2.0N/A and awd would be nice.
