What do you guys think of the Subaru Factory Performance Gague Pack vs aftermarket???
Subaru's price is $568.

Are they electric or mechanical gagues?

What's the best way to go?

Save your money and get some real gauges. ;) For that price or a little bit more, you could get a nice set of Greddy gauges in a Defi pod. You'd also be able to get gauges that are actually useful, i.e. boost, EGT, oil pressure, etc.

The boost is mechanical, meaning you'll have to run a vacuum hose through the firewall to the gauge. The oil temperature and voltage (of course) are meters.

As to the best way to go... it all depends on what you feel is important.

Voltage while the car is running is very informative - one glance can tell you how your electrical system is functioning.

Oil temperature is an important tool for engine longevity - never *ever* push the motor until it's completely warmed up. The silly housewife coolant temp indication on the dash is worthless - so you need an oil temperature indication to let you know when the oil is warm, meaning the engine is warm.

Go aftermarket you can get much better than lameco which don't even match your needles or dash lighting.

If you put a turbo on your column, I would get EGT, oil temp and take your pick between intake temp, oil pressure or .... whatever you find useful.
