Perhaps this comes down to my own (in)ability. This is not the first time I have looked on your site, but I find it EXTREMELY difficult to find the wheels that you advertise. Could you please attach pictures of the wheels in your thread or links that take you directly to the wheels you advertise?

If you visit www.wheeloptions.com you will find most, if not some, of the wheels he is advertising. I think importhookup is doing the marketing for wheeloptions and others.

Here's the link for the wheels via importhookup, that the SELLER, wheeloptions aka Discount Tire Center, carries

Hello Guys,

Sorry about the layout of the website. We're going to tear it apart and re-organize it for you guys. We have a programmer working to create dynamic webpages and also we're going to get more people to help out with the layout of the website.

If the website is too unorganized for you, please go ahead and ask me any questions that you have on any wheels that you're interested in and I will answer your questions directly. Most of the prices and the wheels can be found on www.importhookup.com/wheeloptions/special.htm and the ordering information can be found on www.importhookup.com/wheeloptions/info.htm.

AsnRefugee-

The 17x7 Gram Light pros in gunmetal with your choice of Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s or the Falken Azenis RS mounted and balanced and shipped to you (free ground shipping) will be $2000 flat.

how much do the gram light pros weigh?

WR xplosive
05-06-2003, 06:03 PM
asnrefugee, I believe it's pound per inch ratio.

17's would be, of course, 17lbs.

It's forged but 2-piece, hence the weight. One piece weighs at 15lbs 17"

I may be wrong....

I'm interested in those Formula Mesh rims in 17" gunmetal if you have it (mostly because I can't afford those sweet LE37A's :() I notice that they have sweet looking centercaps on them. Any chance that those are available too?

Do you know how much they weigh, their offset, and maybe how they were made (cast/forged)?

How much if I wanted Kumho Ecsta MX tires instead of the 712's?

I know its alot to ask, money gets tight (but you have such good deals!) Thanks Tim

The Gram Light 57Pros are 17lbs each :)

WR xplosive -

Thanks for helping me out here.

szero-

No trouble at all! The 17's are not available and will not be available in the future. If you want the 18x7.5s the price is only $1395 and if you want to upgrade to the Kumho Ecsta MX tires they're $30 more per tire. If you're on a budget I would highly suggest the 5Zigen FN01R-C, they come in a very nice hyperblack color and the price for that is $1140 with free ground shipping and $1260 for the Ecsta MX upgrade. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Your website doesn't show pics of the gold or gunmetal formula mesh rims, only the hypersilver. That old shot of the bronze which you don't have in stock is only a partial picture.

Check your e-mail as well.

Any idea how much the 17x7 Volk GT-Ns weigh? Looks like a two-piece version of the CE28N, so I assume it's heavier. Is gunmetal a "special color"? In other words, does it cost $100 more? Lastly, any pix of gunmetal LE28n? This seems to be a rare wheel. Not many pix of them around. Thanks.

I was quoted 48 offset for WRX's in this size. I'm still waiting for pics of the gold and gunmetal versions. They look pretty nice for knock offs plus extra weight.

importhookup

Alright let me answer your questions :)

I think the lightest wheels that we have in stock for you is the CE28N's (~13.5lbs), the Velox GP-5S 17x7 (12.5lbs), and all the TE37s and SE37s are all 15lbs each. The BBS-RGR's are 15.5lbs each (we dropped the price by $100) and then the A-Tech Finalspeeds, Weds SA090, and the 5Zigen FN01R-C's are all about 16.5lbs. All the Volk Racing GT series wheels and the Gram Light 57Pros in 17x7 are 17lbs. If you want to go 18s we have the Gram Light 57F in bronze in stock, and those 18x7.5s are 15lbs.

Let me know if you're interested in any of these wheels :)

Boosty Rex-

The 17x7 GT-N's are 17lbs each and gunmetal is a special color, so the set will run you $1560 or $2100 with the Kumho 712s or the Falken Azenis RS with free ground shipping.

WR xplosive-

Great reminder!!! I'll post some pictures of the A Tech Final Speeds or get some pictures posted on our site. Those will be $1295 with your choice of the Kumho 712s or the Falken Azenis RS with free ground shipping. They weigh about 16.5lbs and they look NICE :) Do you have any pictures of your car that you can post for us??

macius-

The offset of the 18x7.5 Formula Mesh is 48mm

Kharne-

Right now the 17x7.5 are available in bronze and silver and we can order the LE28Ns (gold and gunmetal) if you like. As for the 18x7.5 we have all 4 colors in stock :) The package deal for the 18x7.5 with Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s will be $2490 and Falken doesn't make the Azenis RS in 225/40/18. If you would like to upgrade to any other tires just let me know and I'll get you a quote.

Protocol_droid-

They finally got the camera fixed so I should either have the pictures sent to you or posted on here tonight. Thanks for being so patient.

Update:

We just got a bunch of BBS RG-R's in stock in gold or gunmetal. We dropped the package price for them with the Falken Azenis RS or the Kumho 712s so the 17x7.5 package is now $2290 and the 18x7.5 package is now 2590!

We have a set of 18x7.5 Work Emotion and a couple of sets of 17x7 Work Emotion CR's and one set of 17x8 Emotion CR's.

Dude-

We don't have any 18x8 Ce28N's for the Impreza BUT we do have a set of 18x8.5 bronze Ce28N's in stock in 53mm offset, built specifically for the Imprezas. Let me know if you are interested in this one.

Sincerely yours,

Dude-

We have the 17x8 Emotion CR's and the 17x8 5Zigen FN01R-C's, e-mail me if you're interested in either of the wheels.

Asnrefugee-

I've been told that becuase it's 17x7 the 42mm offset will not rub. You might want to get some feedback from members of I-Club just to make sure with exisiting members. But if you want to be safe you should probably go with the CE28N's, I think you'll be really happy with those wheels becuase they look a lot better in person than in pictures.

Kharne -

The 18x8.5 CE28N's are $80 more than the 18x7.5 CE28N's.

Takashi-

I think the Emotion CR's that we have in stock are Gunmetal but I'll double check and get back to you as soon as I find out.

Everyone-

I'm trying to get some pictures of the new LE28N's as well as the Gold and Gunmetal Formula Mesh wheels. I was suppose to have received them about 4 hours ago but it never came through, I'm guessing the files got too large and didn't come through my mail server. Tim,

Brand new WRX owner and im interested in the Volk GTN (Gun Metal) preferable the 18" with the Falken Azenis RS. What price am i looking at? But i am confused with what size i should actually go with. Do you have any recommendations on the size of the wheel. I want my wheels to be flush with the wheel well, I dont want them tucked up underneath the wheel well. Would that be because of the width of the wheel/tire or would you have to get a spacer or something to make that happen.......

Hello guys,

Sorry to keep you guys waiting. I will answer some questions openly while sending some of you guys PM's.

Calworld,

PMed you, also the 18x7.5 LE28N's are now available in gold and gunmetal with polished lip.

Protocol_droid,

I e-mailed you the pics on friday, did you not get them? Each picture was about 500k and I'm not sure if you received them through your hotmail account. I will post them right now in case you didn't get them.

Asianrefugee,

The weight of the buddyclubs is about 16lbs for the 17". PMed you about the pricing of the Racing Harts.

Kharne,

Please accept my apoligies. The guy checking inventory either told me the wrong size or I may have misheard him but they don't make the CE28N's in 18x8.5 for the WRX. The set that was available was 17x8.5. I'm very sorry about that. Is there anything else that you would like? Right now the 18x7.5 CE28N's are available in Bronze, Platinum Silver, Gold w/polished lip (LE28N), and Gunmetal with polished lip (LE28N). Would you like to go for any of these colors?

omahasubaru,

I'll PM you the directions to get a quote and place a special order.

Takashi,

I"ll PM you the directions to get a quote on the Emotion CR's and also get an estimate on the arrival time.

The deals usually go month to month and sometimes they get extended so the price is guaranteed till the end of the month. If you miss the deadline and if we do end up raising the price, just e-mail me and let me know that you inquired about the wheels and I should be able to honor you the same price.

Just to let you guys know. I went to the wheeloptions location in LA and had a hard time deciding between gold formula mesh rims and some bronze 18" te37 ripoffs which are made by formula as well. I don't know why these aren't advertised. They were beautiful. I was standing near my car with the mesh and the te37's for an hour deciding. I ended up getting the polished lip mesh.

Importhookup-

I just looked on the inside of the formula mesh rims and it says R1 racing rims (totally different company than formula?)with an offset of 40 mm, not the 48 as advertised??? So, not only are these not made by formula, they're not the correct offset. If these rims stick out of the wheel wells, I'm going to be very unhappy. Please advise.

Note: the box says the correct offset on them, but the cast stamping on each rim would suggest otherwise??

Bootsy Rex

I would like to hear an answer to this problem as well.

protocol_droid
05-20-2003, 06:11 PM
I talked to vic at wheeloptions (discount tire). He stated when someone wants a certain offset ordered, the cast face will not be changed and thus the 40mm stamp that's on it is really incorrect when made for the 48 offset. This would suggest the box specs are correct. This brings forth another point...I really wanted gunmetal but gold was nice as well. The rim they had were NOT gunmetal at the store, but instead hypersilver. Anyhow if these rims are made by R1-racing, their website shows gunmetal as an option. It would be nice if we could've had these as a real choice.

Just want confirmtion from importhookup that the above is correct..

Ride Operator,

Those wheels will not be available for another couple of months.

Hello Protocol,

I spoke to Vick about the matter and he said that he spoke to you already but let me just clear it up again for you and the rest of the members. The R1 that you see if just imprinted by the Manufacturer of the Rims. R1-Racing is not a company, it is just name that the manufacturer printed on there. Wheeloptions import the Formula Mesh wheels from the same manufacturer that's why that's printed on there. There are only about 5 major wheel manufacturers in Taiwan and most of the wheels like RH Evolution, Tenzo, Ace, Velox, and tons of other wheels all come from those manufacturers. As far as the color of the wheels are concerned, they're referred to as gunmetal by some people and hyperblack by others. Either one of us might of gotten the names mixed up but the wheels that you got are the exact same wheels that are shown in the picture posted. Sorry if you thought the Gunmetals were out of stock and you had to settle for the Hyperblack. There is only one dark silver Formula Mesh so the only difference is the name itself. As far as the offset goes, the wheels are actaully 48mm offset and the box shows 40mm 5x114 because the set that you got was the last set on display. If the wheels were actaully 5x114 40mm offset it wouldn't fit your car at all.

I apoligize if Vick or I have confused you in any way and hopefully things got cleared up for you. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Again sorry for any misunderstanding that I may have caused you.

Ok. As promised here's my pics after a fresh install of the formula mesh rims. I have DMS 40 coilovers, so clearance in the back with an 18X8 rim gave me slight rubbing(before driving of coufse). Hi Tim, quick question- I am very interested in the Gun metal Formula Mesh, but I am still confused about the color. The pics on your website show them Hyperblack but they look kinda chrome. I really like a more grey looking wheel. You've mentioned earlier that you wheel is similar or the same as R1 racing's version. Do you carry the grey or Gun metal one? Heres' a link to R1's website showing the GTR-9 in a gunmetal shade with a polished lip.http://www.r1racingwheels.com/F_wheel.htm

The formula mesh I have actually have the r-1 stamp on the back of them (read through this thread and you'll see my posts and importhookups replies on that) Vic at wheeloptions.com said he could order the gunmetal, but would take over a month to get.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that one of the main reasons why we set up the forum is so we can try to keep our information on the wheels more organized. You'll find more pictures and the most updated selection of rims there. Note that most of the wheels listed there will fit the Imprezas and you're free to sign up there and ask us any questions within our own forum.

Hey Tim,

I'm probably going to get a set of the 17x7 Volk GT-N in gunmetal. What offset do I need to go with? Also can you quote me how much extra they would be w/ S03's on them?

Thanks,
JD

Tim,
I ordered a set of Work Esperios last week that Vick said he had just received in stock, and I am still waiting for a tracking number that he said he would email me today. Is there a way that you can check up on this?

Thanks

Tim,
Scratch that last post. They came in last night and look great. They look even better installed. My only complaint is that two of the lugnuts had bad threading.

:disco: I got wheels!

and what is the price/weight difference from the ce28n(silver)

Any other really good tires you have too?

Hello,

The 17x7.5 Mercury Silver LE28N's are out of stock so we have to special order those. We have the CE28N's in Titanium silver for $1880 with free ground shipping and you can add $780 for the 235/45/17s if you want them mounted, balanced, and shipped to your door. 235 is the widest you can go on a WRX, anything bigger is just way too big. We also have the gold LE28N's in stock if you're interested. The CE28N's are $1880 adn the LE28N's are $40 more for the set.

Thanks(sorry for my delay)
Sounds good...but what about the weight....I know ce28n are 13.6 lbs each(17x7.5) how much more do the limited editions weigh? Also you said 1880+780 for the ce28ns w So3 235/45 correct, mounted and balanced??? Thanks anthony

Any other really nice forged wheels that weigh less then my stock wrx wheels in 17" maybe not as pricey but preferrably volk?:D

Also is there a huge advantage going with 8" wide rather than 7.5??? Thanks again=anthony

importhookup
07-16-2003, 05:51 PM
Hi Anthony,

The pricign is correct and that includes free ground shipping also. There's not much of a difference between the 7.5s and the 8. Theoretically the wider your wheels are the better it handles, but the tradeoff is that you'll get a less comfortable ride and a slower acceleration. Most people say that that the 7.5s are ideal for our WRXs. The 17x8s are available for $40 more and the offset is 44mm. Please e-mail me if you're interested. Also, the weight for the LE's are the same as the regular CE28N's.

Here's an updated list of wheels that we have for the Impreza aside from everything else that we carry.

18x8 Black Racing Pro N1 $1620 with Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 225/40/18 with free ground shipping.

We have 3 sets of Racing Hart CP35 for $1500 shipped!!!!!!! <- this is a crazy deal. The wheels are approximately 13lbs each, 17x7.5. + $440 for the Kumho 712s and $480 for the Falken Azenis RS (Sport).

We also have a lot of A-Tech and Speedmaster wheels in stock. Please contact me if you're interested.

escher,

Not an odd question at all :) The LE stands for Limited Edition (color) so they're basically TE37s in gunmetal with polished lips.

I'll check availability for you during the day and get back to you :)

where on your site does it give a complete list of wheels available for the WRX as well as prices. I do not know what I want to order yet but it is impossible to view the various types of wheels given the "forum" format you have to your selection page.
