What are the spring rates on these? How much will these alter ride height in comparison to the STi springs? Thanks

Can you confirm if they fit the new shape (MY04) WRX sedan

MastroWRX

The spring rate is not published. Prodrive considers it a trade secret. Also, the springs ride great.

They are made for the WRX, so I doubt you need to worry....as in Prodrive WRX Springs? Suspension is the same layout, changes are mainly to the cosmetics.

Lowering is just right if you want to slean up the wheel wells.

Really, they are "just right".

Bill

The use of "doubt" and "mainly" worries me.

I have heard a rumour that someone with an 04WRX tried to fit these and they do not fit. Could just be that they do not know what they are doing.

Any chance of a definitive answer for the MY04 WRX sedan?

Well, I'll stop using doubt and mainly.

According to the Subaru parts look up, there is a difference with the rear springds, we haven't put a set on one yet to determine the difference.

We are not aware of any fitment issues.

I'd watch any lowering spring with low offset wheels on a wagon.

pjcoregon -

Is that an STi lip? I've got the Prodrive springs too (agree they look and ride perfect!), and am thinking about an STi lip too. Are you scraping much?

Oh...and free bump for some great springs!

Yes its an STi Ver II lip... it lowers the front 3"... so you are going to scrape with or without springs... you scrape with all lips... you just have to learn to live with it. :)

Well, while you're talking to them ask them if they will give me a job.

I've spent over $3500 on prodrive stuff, I thik that justifies an offer of employment.

I would love to be a prodrive bitch. If they paid me for it.

will these spring mess up my stock shocks??

or do i have to change my stock shocks too

thrdeye
07-29-2003, 07:24 AM
nope. they are designed for stock suspension. That's not to say that your shock will NEVER go bad, but it shouldn't really happen.

as for fitting 04's I've read post that you have to change something on the rear. Basically you swap out an 02/03 part and everything works fine... sorry I can't remember what exactly you swap...

"These springs do not work on the new 2004 model. You will need to change the rear strut tops to 02-03 to work." thats what another vendor says in their ad for these springs.

right the springs wont fit without some modification on a MY04, but i have also heard that prodrive is working on a new spring set to work with the MY04. so just be a little more patient and you wont have to swap out parts.

I understand these springs ride really nice, but what abour ride comfort? I don't want to bother with driving a lowered car around if the ride isn't comfortable on top of that. I drive a lot of chicks around and I need comfort man!
