Imprezer,

don't let this stuff get you down. i'm a webmaster too over at TheRacerNetwork.com and every once in awhile i'll get some new members that try to flame or just not post appropriate topics in the right places. if you don't take a stand you get a board like all the rest and if you do take a stand some people think you are being tyrannical. listen to the masses and not the occassional jerk. i like a board that gives you information, where you don't have to sift through all the BS. you run your site like i run mine and i commend any other Webmaster that deviates from the norm! like i tell my new "flamers", if you want to flame or be stupid there are designated areas and if that isn't good enough for you go join superhonda.com. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif later.

... or clubsi.com. i moderate over there.. and lemme tell you. that board is CRAZY. it catches all the rif-raf http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif hehe. but i still love that board. i go there and post every now and again, but this board is much more intellegent, much more mature, and the average member is a bit more edjucated it seems.

Please, referain from making stupid posts trying to be funny and making posts about other posts. Just stick to the subject matter of this forum -- WRX. Do you want to be funny? Off Topic is for you then.

Does this post belong to the category of 'posts about other posts?' If so, it should be moved to the off-topic forum.

Gotta disagree with you there Kostamojen. Back in the old days, this board and the STi-mlist had mostly technical discussions rather than opinions about body kits and "street kills". Alex is just trying to prevent us from degenerating into ClubSi, and I think his concern is warranted.

I agree 100 percent Necromancer. Personally I would like to see things run a bit tighter around here, but the moderation has come a long way so I'll take what is given http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Thank you, Joe, you are correct. I am just trying to keep this board's posts stick the the subject. Be it a body kit or a turbo. What I don't want and won't allow is meaningless jibber-jabber that has no valuable info in it.

Imprezer thanks for running a good board.

Im not trying to insult anyone, but I believe that maybe the jibber-jaber anything-subaru posts should go in the "General" forum if you think that way. There should be a seperate "RS" forum just as there is a WRX forum, because "RS" does not equal "General". Your being discrimitory on specific cadigorys and its getting confusing on what needs to be posted where.
Yes, I totally understand that before now there was no need for any differentiating between the WRX and the RS from the General forum (thats why the WRX forum was created) but now the meaning of the "General Subaru Information" forum has been lost and is mixing in with everything else, as we have been seeing here...

Perhaps some clearer organization of the topics might help even more?

Example:
[I-Club Models/General]
General Subaru Info Forum (all models non-specific info)
RS/L/TS/OBS Forum (or possibly Pre-MY02 forum)
WRX Forum (or possibly MY02+ forum)
Legacy Forum
Forester Forum
SVX Forum
[I-Club Tech]
Powertrain
Suspension, etc.
Dress up
Car audio/security
[I-Club Area Chapters]
...All the specific areas...
[I-Club Classifieds]
Private
Vendor
[I-club Misc]
Motorsports
Newbie/FAQ
Off-Topic

What do you think? Would this help?

Kostamojen,
I dont think that would work. Back in the day we had like 2 forums, and that rocked. Now that we are getting bigger, we have more, and I like the way it is. To make it more seperated would really not be cool, because its just a pain in the ass to have to go through them. I find myself not going through all the forums now and missing out on a few topics that I could have found helpful. I think the current setup is good the way it is. "if it aint broken dont fix it"
Thats just my opinion, and I have been here for a while, so what I say goes! :-)

...and stop posting stuff that you know will cause major fire around here. Please, do whatever you need to do, but stop jumping on other people's back's, calling other people names and doing all this OT nonse. Want to be smartass around here? Take it to the OT forum. Everyone is getting irritated by this nonsense.

Please, acknowledge.

After posting this, "Brahmzy" decides to start new topics "smartass" and "Extreemly Disappointed II". Please, oh please ban him forever. Find his IP and nuke it. Thanks from myself and everyone who is sick of his crap.

I find that I spend a lot of time on the board. Definitely more than I used to but it does seem as if the signal to noise ratio is experiencing a dip. I like to be able to come on, share my ideas, ask questions, and offer/get help in a reasonably efficient manner. Hey, personally I'd rather be driving my cars than spending a ton of time here sifting through reams of low-nutrition posts.

I think and hope that as the WRX frenzy wanes a bit, the faithful will remain and this board will get stronger and more focused again. But let's face it, growth is not always something we can control in the fashion we wish to control it. Our creations take on a life of their own. Our best hope is to guide it in a direction that is positive. Alex, I think you and the other moderators are doing just that.

The community here is smart and capable. We'll take care of this place because it's important to us. Those who don't play wil eventually be ignored, shunned into nonexistence. Your "godlike" powers of banning and thread locking should be used with great discretion. It's not exactly a democracy in here, but it is democratic and populist and you know what, unlike 100% of Americans in America, 100% of us here are here because we choose to be. That means something.

I'm new here, and I don't know much tech stuff about cars...I want to work on that. I just know that I like to drive, and am really excited about my new WRX...which of course is not here yet.

I think a lot of these "low nutrition" posts are people bantering back and forth, fuled by their anticipation of their cars' delivery. I think a chat room would solve a lot of this. There people could just ramble out stuff, without feeling that they needed to create meaningfull communications for posterity. I read a few days ago that you were working on a chat room. I think that will help.

i have to agree with Imprezer.
when we streamline the forums it allows for much more productive surfing. You can do a good scan of the whole board in less than an hour and not miss very much. God i love this board.
