I wish there was a way to get more of the Yahoo folk over here. This is such a better format.

Give it time. More will come.

I've noticed that a lot of the people that have migrated are the ones that aren't real "chatty". That's one of the aspects of the Yahoo site that they are kind of tired of (perhaps). I myself don't mind chattiness, and find some of it amusing, but stumbling your way through all of it got overwhelming at times. At least here, if you're away for a period of time, you can just read the topics that interest you quickly and easily.

So, until some of the larger 'personalities' maybe show up, the ones that are here will probably remain fairly quiet because they're not big talkers. (Myself excluded http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif ).

I don't understand what the opposition is. It seems like a step up to me. There is a lot of valuable cross-information to be had, and opportunities to have contact with active vendors/dealers. I think some of the Subaru get-togethers would be fun also.

Just my .02

If you want to make this place come alive, just figure how to shut down the Yahoo site for a good week with the msg #40 problem. Then it would be a bigger hassle to go back and check the Yahoo site.

The problem right now is that it's DIFFERENT. If you haven't noticed, people by and large do not like change.
I still like the Yahoo! site, even with it's drawbacks, because it's "comfortable". On the other hand, this site shows a lot of promise, so I'll likely stick with it. I imagine it will take some time, but if it is better, more will come.

Hey, I like the "chatty" atmosphere of the Yahoo site. I consider myself one of the "chatty" people. I like this club more though because of the seperation of threads. Reading one topic and the replies here is so much easier than having to open each reply in Yahoo land. I also like it because as already stated the oppitunity to cross info with other Subaru owners. As for how to get the Yahoo members over here I do not know http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/confused.gif. Many of them are just too set in there ways http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif I wish they would give it atleast a one month try if nothing else. What would it cost them? Nothing. What could they gain? A really cool club with a great format!!!!

Don't fret it really... they will come (assuming we are vocal enough on the Yahoo site).

I remember when the Yahoo club was first set up no-one wanted to use it despite Jester and myself posting Usenet messages every day about it. After a little while people started to trickle in, then all too quickly that trickle became a flood. So long as there's nothing glaringly wrong with this BBS (which there doesn't seem to be), then there's no reason the others won't migrate. At the very least though, they'll straddle both sites for a while.

Notice if you will the lack of SVX discussion on Usenet any more... or at least not a lot. That'll happen to Yahoo. Now, if they add a search function to the clubs that might be a little different http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

Hey guys! Half or more of us here on the IClub are in the computer field of some kind, many in IT. Instead of organizing a group buy, maybe we can all organize a 1000 person strong denial of service attack for you, or just smear "the SVX forum is down.. please check the new server at <A HREF="http://www.impreza-rs.com"" TARGET=_blank>www.impreza-rs.com"</A> across the forum for you!
We enjoy a little good-natured mayhem around here. I was a lurker over on the SVX forum on Yahoo- I almost bought one about a year and a half ago. I think they MAY be apprehensive that the Impreza community here is so large, but even the Forester guys and gals are here, and they don't even have their own forum!

You shouldn't joke about that DoS stuff, you may wake up tomorrow with the FBI at your door http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif

people don't like change.. they'll be slow to move.. I can remember how long it took most people to leave from the KC message board.

this site welcomes general chatter, but one of the things I like about it is the level of technical expertiese seems a lot higher over here.

the best way to get people here is to start having some good discussion, so if you can think of a good question, topic or story, post it away http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
