I'm gettin ready to bite the bullet and drop off the beast to have the front main seal replaced. I am also going to have the timing belts done since there's 109k on the car and I don't know when they were last changed. So, is it a good idea to have the oil pump and water pump done while they are in there? The local suby tech has seen quite a few svx's so I trust he can handle them competently. I know on the 1.8L it was a good idea to do this. Any thoughts?
sorry if this is a faq, kc's search function is down and yahoo is a pita to search.

Yes, have it all done at the same time. Most of the cost involved is the labor to get to that stuff, so while they have access to it, you might as well get it done. Do the water pump for sure. I'm not sure I've heard a lot about doing the oil pump also, but I would imagine it'd be a good idea. Anyone else have thoughts on that?

I just bought a 92' last month with 88k miles.
Since I was planning to do the timing belt we
also did the following while we were in there:
new waterpump, new seals for oil pump and powersteering pump. We also replaced the tranny filter below the battery and added a tranny cooler. Also added an oil cooler and changed out the fuel filter. Finished it off with synthetic fluid in the tranny, diffs, and engine.
