I was flipping through the water injection manuel and noticed that is says specifically for surbaru to place the nozzle prior to the IC. How come several other people place it after the IC? Are the cooling affects to the IC minimal and not worth drilling the IC? I have a txs TMIC and am not afraid to drill and tap (2 holes and counting)

check out the last few posts from here (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=345803) . Lots of good stuff from Richard @ ERL. Seems like there is no hard and fast rule, both before and after have benifits.
just FYI, I put mine in the IC outlet section just before the IC hose. I want as much in cyl cooling as I can get,, plus there is still some benifits to be had for cooling the intake charge after the IC.

I recommend you tap into the "Y" pipe under the intercooler.

Just make sure you are getting your symetry square, otherwise, you will be lopsided with respect to distribution between 1-4 & 2-3 cyls.
Besides, tapping into Samcos makes me feel all woozy

holy cow!!! That link made my head spin in the end. Equations I get, I'm a math teacher, but then you bring in combustion and other physics and the end result is :disco: party time :P
I'm going to install post IC and pre throttle body based off of other wrxs' results. Either way it will be helping you out.

If you are using the stock IC like I did, the aluminum is pretty thin and you can't get the tap to take a real good bite out of it. JICYC.

I have the txs TMIC, plenty of meat to tap in to.
